Mmmm

We have had a beautiful grandfather clock handed down to us .. perfect working order and recently serviced

I really fancied putting it up in the lounge as a focal / talking point if nothing else ..

Thing is it apparently chimes rather loudly for some time - every 15 minutes, day and night, 24/7 365 !!

I don’t think I could cope with that being a very poor , light sleeper PLUS it would ruin our telly experience !!

Thoughts ?

How guys with things like high-tops and women with Marge-Simpson-style hair (and so-on) manage to get their height measured accurately.

…I’m sure there are ways of muffling the chimes if you speak to a clock person…?….

Erm. I guess I’m one of those people who grew up eating pineapple-and-ham pizzas and I didn’t dislike them that much (especially for someone who doesn’t even like ham in-general) but I don’t really rate them now. I don’t hate them. I just wouldn’t choose to go there anymore. Asides that, I’m not a fan of barbecue pizzas. Barbecue-sauce tastes right on so many other things (like chicken; heck, probably like goose and duck), but … not pizza, not for me. Also not a fan of posh Waitrose-like pizzas, either. Different shops serve different purposes and what I take from Waitrose is their bags, to carry around as like a fashion-accessory, and, when I can afford it, more consistent quality and a taste of the premium in their range (not that they have everything, even from that intercontinental point of view) but when it comes to pizza, Morrisons and especially Asda are hands-down the best of most U.K. chain-stores. Even Italian-affiliated people themselves don’t go pretentious with pizza so I don’t see why Waitrose has to. It doesn’t sit right with me. It’s like pretentious cultural appropriation.

How are you set between pork, bacon and ham, by the way (out of interest)? As-for me per-se, I like pork, don’t mind bacon (especially crispy and on burgers) and dislike ham (although pizza-ham, like I said, is surprisingly quite-a-bit better for me). None would be my choice to have on a pizza (is bacon-pizza is even a thang; maybe it will be one day).

I love Meat on Pizza in general.

Meat Feast in particular is one of my favourites.

And with Pineapple, I think that it's at it's best on a Burger imo, so I agree with you that it's not my favourite Pizza topping, despite also being okay with it in general.

I've never tried Waitrose Pizzas before, are they not nice then?

Mystic Mock 08-06-2025 08:54 AM

Which YouTuber can chat more **** out of Not Even Emily and Melonie Mac?

I know that most of you on this thread are probably wondering what am I even on about, but they seriously chat some **** lol.

And some of the stuff that they say is really unhinged and unhealthy in my view.

And the narcissistic behaviour from the Not Even Emily channel is insufferable, but I also bizarrely can't stop watching.:bawling:

But Melonie Mac's whole "hating perversion" whilst literally catering her channel to men that fancy her is possibly the most blatant grift that I have ever seen on the Internet.

That's without mentioning Melonie's extreme views on the LGBT community.

And I know that my rant makes me sound like an Incel, especially as both women are really physically attractive (which is an Incel's number one nemesis normally,) but my mind is possibly melting from the mix of Misandry (Emily,) Homophobia (Melonie,) racism (from both a little bit, but especially from Emily,) Transphobia (Melonie,) religious extremism (Melonie,) and just downright bizarre jokes from Emily, it's like how do these two function in society?:joker:

I'm pondering a lot about these two ladies tbh, and not in that way.

The way babies are so cute.

People putting children with better balance than me on the baby swing in the park to the point that the actual babies often don't get a chance??

The way some dog-owners seem to struggle to understand that not everyone’s a fan of dogs in the way they are or necessarily comfortable having them in their space. ‘S/he’s alright; their bark’s worse than their bite’ doesn’t necessarily mean that a passing stranger wants to be licked or jumped over. Respect that basic boundary.

(The “Little things that irritate you” thread was getting over-saturated, thanks to me.)

Nope. The only dog I like is Brian Griffin, and he’s an anthropomorphic pseudo-intellectual (no shade to him). Some people akin not being a dog-liker to mental illness but that says more about them than the person who has their preferences. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, and they’re entitled to that.

Dogs bark too much and just do not respect basic human boundaries. I just can’t get with them, and never have. The entitlement of many-a dog-owner who can’t possibly comprehend why random strangers don’t want to be licked or chased after doesn’t help.

That’s a shame

I generally don’t trust people who don’t like dogs .. dogs are very, very perceptive creatures and in my experience are very rarely wrong in their judgement.

Incidentally , I specifically said “generally” ..

The way “come again” sounds kinda frisky but we don’t acknowledge or talk about it.
