It was an accusation that warranted an investigation. Also, as has been pointed out it was the young mans parent who made many complaints, including telling Edwards to not contact the young man. Anger is not the appropriate response.

HE's angry? At who?

Poor man must have so much shame. Leave him alone now. The police have said he did nothing wrong

Of Course
That's because he is on Medication
in the Mental Hospital.

trying to add a bit of balance, we don't know the extent of any mental issues he may have. It could be seen as a convenient excuse, it could in the circumstances be a reality.

If having these mental health issues means that he can bow out of presenting on the BBC then it's probably the best outcome because i don't think the general public would be particularly welcoming if he appeared back in his current role as if nothing had happened

they did not preclude him from working every day and pocketing a £25k pay rise for extra work

absolute bollocks

That’s because they’ve looked at the ‘evidence’ and spoken to the people involved and have found no evidence of the crime he was accused of committing

It needs to be handled behind closed doors now. Reading between the lines of his wife's statement, it sounds like he may have made an attempt to take his life over the weekend

The events of the last few days have greatly worsened matters, he has suffered another serious episode and is now receiving in-patient hospital care where he'll stay for the foreseeable future

If this is true then we must sympathise but, its speculation.

Back to what Jeremy Vine said, and I'm more inclined to believe him etc. as I said above.

he'll stay for the foreseeable future

google translate

till it all blows over

I hope he takes the time he needs to recover from this poisonous witch hunt, so he can come back and take action against those that publicly slandered him as a sex offender

I bet he's healthy enough to do an interview. We'll see.

And tonight, after he was named, a current BBC employee said that earlier this year they had received suggestive messages on social media from the presenter. Newsnight also claims another BBC worker and a former one have also told them they received what they perceived to be more inappropriate social media messages that made them feel uncomfortable.

Agree. Any mental health issues did not make him do this. There must have been pattern of behaviour for a while.

Cherie 12-07-2023 07:16 PM

Its very clever, they have practically ham strung the parents now as they will look bad if they pursue it, they might just be happy that he is finally out of their sons life though

Zizu 12-07-2023 07:17 PM

Supposedly the BEEB are also treating this as a possible abuse of power case as well as the ‘other’ allegations
