I keep listening to Denmark's song, it's so catchy
|
i agree

Denmarks is great,it has parts that are a bit like Shine a Light by Katrina and the Waves and sounds like lots of other songs but it is a song that could be a hit over here.
Azerbaijan was really good, a classy song, I loved the German entry, but a definate well done to Jedward, they performed great for Ireland and deserved the top marks they got and all the other votes that got them to finish in 8th place. They did really well for Ireland in a very good set of entries in Eurovision this year. All I could think of when the UK was on, was why did they give so much lead vocal to Lee Ryan, he sounded awful, strained and like his voice had gone. I was disappointed with Blues performance although the song is a really good one. It was a good Eurovision an many of the songs and performances on the night were better than what we have in our charts at present. |
AZERBAIJAN were rubbish. However I am glad they won over Italy. Why did Italy even come 2nd? Political correctness again.. Was Europe genuinely happy they are back in the competition or just another dig against the UK? Italy withdrew from the competition 14 years ago when the UK won. They were throwing their toys out of the pram. Pathetic.
The UK still did reasonably well. 100 points :) Eventhough they sounded flat on the night. Jedward were allright and still did well. My favourite was.. Moldovo?? Was that the one when there was that girl cycling on stage with a unicycle? lol and I liked that one with the girl.. and like a city set behind her. Lol sorry getting mixed up with the countries. France didn't do well and were favourites to win. Glad he didn't win. He was boring. Still not a bad show over all. The UK should have got more votes from Ireland though. We gave them 12 :nono: lol |
I am happy Denmark did well :D Forgot what place they came in.... lol

I like Jedward anyway but I think they performed great at Eurovision, they put all their energy into it, well deserved 8th place and 3 top votes too from UK, Denmark and Sweden.
Really like the pic on your post Niamh. |
Also loved georgias :D
Liked a lot of them actually, missed irelands and englands because my mum told my dad I would walk to his instead of him giving me a lift(which he offered :bored: ) Gutted jedward didnt get higher, can you imagine how they would have went on if they won  Watched blues performance this morning, lee ****ed the song anyways, he cant hit those notes like he once could. We still did better than I thought we would and I dont really give a **** about eurovision anyways, but well done ireland. Dos seem eurovision brings out the need in some people to be racist/prejudiced/whatever though. Just a general observation. Chip...on...shoulder  |

All in good fun. |
Meh, probably. Doesnt bother me as such, just an observation as I said.
Have a feeling if the boot was on the other foot though, it wouldnt be took as a joke ;) Edit. And a few on my facebook feed are definitely not joking, I know most here wont be serious. I deleted some bastards from there last night for moaning about all the 'foreign *******s'. Really no need :bored: |

its just meaningless banter in the heat of the moment Personally I find all the paranoia a bit ridiculous. Of course we all know that neighbouring countries give top votes to each other regularly. UK and Ireland have done that often too. But its not a hate thing and nobody can vote against a country. They just prefer others more. The UK has one of the best records(still) in the competition with 5 wins and many 2nd places. So the conspiracy theories are nonsense. Other countries like France and Spain always do much worse but you don't hear them whinging about europe hating them! Its just typical paranoia and mistrust of europe. Truth is, europe is a hugely diverse block of countries and very few of them think alike or have much in common. Its not all of them aginst us...its more about certain regions having more in common. |

We have Jedward for christ sake. You think I haven't heard all manner of abuse about them representing the micks? It's all good fun. |
The song with the woman in the blue dress was probably the best last night!
Shame UK didnt do a bit better, thought it would have. |

I liked the ones with the sand artists, the girl who they compared to christina aguilera, the rock band people and the winners.
Think there were a few more but I forgot them already:laugh: |
i loved Estonia, the girl in the pink dress singing "1,2,7,3 down the rockafella street.."
|
Estonia girl .
|
Oh **** I forgot last year was that Joshua bloke for us, I thought it was Jade and we came 5th but that was the year before :blush2:
|
Oh I didnt see them
I will probably end up watching a repeat of it, missed every act before the people who were after england. Great timing that was :bored: |
The UKs was chronic last year an awful performance from that Josh guy,.I find I am watching Germany's again and again today. I really liked the moody feel it had to it.

personally I don't think the previous years winner should be able to represent again. Its just unfair and gives them an advantage. Unless the song is painfully dull like this was. |

It is rumoured Jedward may go for it again next year for Ireland, there is a massive buzz for them around Europe apparantly and Louis Walsh has said he may put them forward for it next year again. Great. I loved that song and their performance. I also loved that the UK voting viewers also voted them their choice for the maximum mark.So much for the UK not really liking Jedward. Louis is doing a really great job with those two. The UK viewing audience for Eurovision also near doubled from its 5.5 million last year to nearer 10 million this year. |
