Well normally, when singing live AND dancing your ass off, you get out of breath so it's there to give a consistency throughout the performance

Bit hypocritical of her seeing as she makes such a big deal of always singing live.

Smithy 29-04-2011 09:12 PM

But she was singing live... :laugh2:

On top of a backing track? Clearly she stopped singing at some points too, the whole performance was not fully sung live.

Smithy 29-04-2011 09:42 PM

Of course not, how the hell is she meant to sing live when she's dancing like that!

She ALWAYS performs her fastest songs with a backing track

It's possible, just look at Beyonce.

Well if that's the case why does she feel she has the right to make comments like this then?

“I would never even think about it (lip synching). The whole point to me is, if you’re gonna be number one, you better really be *******ing number one. If you’re gonna be on top, you better be able to do all those things, because it’s a real privilege to be able to make music everyday, and I get away with a lot…"

“Andy Warhol says art is what you can get away with, and I get away with a lot with my music and my clothes, and I work really hard so I could truly be a real artist for all my fans. That’s really *******ed up when you lip-synch.”

and

"I never lip sync , I never have lip synced and I never will. And as long as you’re paying money to buy a ticket to see my show, I’m not gonna waste your God damn time watching some bitch lip sync or wave through a HBO special."

Beyonce:

She stopped singing to dance and the backing track played over.

And probably because she gets pissed off at how some lazy bitches just mime there way through a concert, ANYONE could do that it doesn't take any talent.

She was singing live except for when she was dancing, I really don't see why you're trying to cause an argument

I know Beyonce has mimed in the past but she's a good live singer too. If she can perform her Single Ladies routine whilst singing it live, I can't see why Gaga can't do the same for Judas.

Yet she said she would never lip sync. If she had just said she had a problem with lip synching and that she doesn't like to do it but sometimes does anyway, I wouldn't have cared.

There are clearly times where she stops singing and relies on the backing track for her vocals. Why couldn't she sing the very first part for example? No dancing involved, yet the backing track was used.

There's a difference to singing with a backing track and Lip Syncing, lip syncing is moving your mouth with no sound coming out and prancing around on stage pretending to sing. She sung live for the verses and most of the chorus, who cares that she didn't sing the into she danced her fucking ass for the rest of the song.

Stop whinging about it, the only reason you're doing it because she's made jibes which you think were directed at Britney

I don't need an explanation, I know the difference. There were times during that performance where she stopped singing and the backing track substituted for her, even you can't deny that. The very beginning of the song which required no dancing was not even sung live. I've seen her dance better to be honest. I just disliked the whole performance. The clothes she wore, the lack of live singing and the lacklustre routine.

Not whinging. Just don't like hypocrites and her Ellen performance went against every previous thing she'd ever said about lip synching. No I'm actually not, the dig was not directly referring to Britney although it's very likely she was on about her which makes it even worse. Considering Britney never sings live and is open about that fact, for Gaga to say she will never not sing live and for her to slate others who do it and then go and do it on TV herself is just pathetic.

Well clearly you do need an explanation because she wasn't lyp syncing :conf2: She sang most of the song, thats not lyp syncing and of course the backing track substituted, sometimes it even drowned her out, but it's to be expected when she's doing such vigorous choreography.

Smithy 30-04-2011 11:59 AM

GaGa's going to be on Graham Norton on May 13th!! :cheer2:

oh and apparently she's confirmed Marry The Night is the 3rd single and Hair is the fourth

She didn't sing the chorus and pretended to do so, that's lip syncing is it not? She sang a good majority of it which was admirable but still doesn't make her any less of a hypocrite really. Like I said yesterday, if others can manage it, I don't see why she couldn't. Isn't she going to be doing the same routine on tour also?

Smithy 30-04-2011 05:02 PM

Yes she did sing the chorus, you can hear it in parts, its just the backing track drowned her out. And no she won't be doing the same routine, she never performs video routines on tour

Doogle 30-04-2011 05:07 PM

Damnit I wanted Government Hooker to be a single.

She's just moving her mouth, she may sing a few notes but it's not obvious because the whole thing sounds exactly like the studio version. No singer sounds exactly the same as their studio version of the song when singing live, apart from maybe Adele.

It still might be, I could see her releasing 6/7 singles this time :amazed: Hopefully The Edge of Glory is one, she said it's a pop masterpiece

I know what you're getting at on the choruses, but you can hear on the S's that she's singing live, it's just the backing track is drowning her out, not her fault

Even if she releases some in only a few countries (like Eh Eh) that'd be good, as long as it gets a video.

I was gutted Dance In The Dark didn't get released; I wanted a video so badly.

Smithy 01-05-2011 01:25 AM

Apparently Marry the Night is going to be released next thursday onto iTunes as a promo single and Americano the following friday

seems kinda early if you ask me ;o

Niall 01-05-2011 09:57 AM
