Well that's what I meant, an "icon" isn't really dictated by how long you've been there. Angie Watts was only in the show 3/4 years back in the 80s and she's more memorable and synonymous with EE that many who've been on much longer.

Gstar 05-03-2014 12:32 PM

I think that Kim is an icon

reece(: 05-03-2014 01:01 PM

Chrissie Watts is pretty iconic and she was only in it a year and a half.

Redway 05-03-2014 01:23 PM

08marsh is right. And Chrissie was a wonderful creation but she can't be an icon if she was only in it a year and a half...she didn't have enough impact in comparison to the longer standing cast (but easily could've had she stayed on a bit).

New spoilers...

Spoiler:

Monday 17th March

A guilty Kat is torn about what she should do but whose advice will she listen to?

Max finds himself caught in a web of lies.

Phil is concerned after seeing the lengths someone close to him will go to.

Tuesday 18th March

Kat makes a drastic decision and there’s no turning back.

Alfie’s past finally catches up with him and he is given a game-changing ultimatum.

Shabnam encourages Masood to start dating again but Masood has already got his eyes set on someone.

Thursday 20th March

Alfie knows what he has to do, but will he be able to go through with it?

It’s judgement day and repercussions are felt all round.

I don't know though. There's a good argument for Chrissie, especially as she was the one to finish off Den Watts for good.

Some characters are better off in short stints, they're impact is better.

Chrissie was amazing, but I think they only ever intended her to be around for this Den storyline and brought her in just for that storyline arc.

Fair enough. I agree Chrissie was an amazing creation and turned around the show's fortunes in a remarkably short space of time. It's no coincidence things started sliding again soon after she left, IMO.

People always forget Stacey's involvement in this storyline, she gave Zoe an alibi for Kat and stood up to Chrissie.

The Mitchell's and Sharon put on pressure and in the end Stacey cracked and confessed that she was lying.

I was glad that Stacey made up with Zoe before Zoe left because they disliked one another for a while.

Funny how Alice is in a position like how Zoe was and Kat is willing to do whatever it takes to help Stacey, even though she was close to Alice.

Kat now sending an innocent woman down for murder after the way she treated Chrissie over her attempts to frame Zoe and Sam is highly amusing.

I must admit it is funny too, but it is to suit the storyline.

The show is willing to sacrifice Alice because they were willing to sacrifice her and axed her before they asked the Actress who plays her, Jasmyn Banks to return for the trial but she refused because she was in America and wasn't under any contract and she didn't have much of a speaking part apparently, so I don't blame her for not returning if that was true.

Stacey and Janine are popular characters, one is back for good and the other will be let free to go abroad with chance of a future return.

Patsy can really turn it on when she needs to, sometimes she just whines but other times she's great.

Ian was hilarious, had my laughing out loud.

Tonight's episode was fantastic!

reece(: 06-03-2014 07:37 PM

I think it's great when they don't shove too many characters/storylines into one episode, nice to just see it go back and forth between Mitchells and Butchers.

Yeah, I love episodes like that! If only Nikki Spraggan had been in tonight's episode...

seems like they are trying to go down the route of pairing Lola with Jay... I hope not and they're just best friends...

Billy took Jay in as a son after Jase's death, it'd be too weird if they did.
