She's irritating and it's a shame she won, but she did win, so suck it up buttercup.
Why does anyone care that she's a black woman though? It's not 1950.

Because it's not hard to look at the news and see that racial equality isn't exactly There right now in the US even in 2019, so seeing some groundbreaking representation in the BBUS winners' circle is good and empowering.

What argument? Why is it any more amazing for a "POC" to win than anyone else? Do we still judge people based on race, in 2019?

Because we haven't had a black person win BBUS ever so it's a big deal, especially during Black History month.

IDK if Dina would've even been the best opponent? She's crazy but people loved her and she probably would've gotten the Jonathan/Ryan/Joey block of votes at minimum, not to mention any other votes she picks up along the way just for being crazy but endearing and likable.

True. Why are people being looked at for their ethnicity? Really?

Because when white person after white person wins BBUS, it's slightly discouraging for any minority entering the house and looking to win. Representation absolutely matters and the fact that we've now had a string of three POC winners is one of the few legitimately great things I'll say about this how.

When people like Danielle Reyes were the best players but never won makes you think that you, as a black person, you have no chance. But now a black person has won, they cannot be written off anymore and they will be able to believe that they are just as capable of winning as everyone else.
|
Eh, Danielle's loss was totally fair and deserved. For someone who had so much control, she willingly put herself into a scenario where she's the goat at F3 who loses either 9-1 or 10-0. Even with a sequestered jury there's still a solid 90+% chance that she loses.

Why is the thing you notice about the people that win is their ethnicity?

For like the fourth time, because representation matters and having an attitude of "I don't see color " is actually very dangerous.
