I went to Milton Keynes yesterday to watch Gillingham play we won 2-1 with two brilliant goals.

Here is a video of us all enjoying ourselves.

Wow! is all I can say to Boro's performance.

Best comeback from any side in Europe for years. To need 4 goals and not only do it, but rip another side to tatters in the way they did was brilliant to watch.

Altrincham have had 18 points deducted by the Conference and have been fined £1,000 for fielding an ineligible player earlier this season.

The ruling would put the Robins bottom of the Conference and would almost certainly mean relegation.

James Robinson was ineligible when he made 13 appearances for Altrincham this season, scoring four times.

Altrincham are waiting to receive the decision in writing before deciding whether to appeal to the FA.

Robinson, 23, signed for the Moss Lane club from Accrington Stanley last November when he did not have international clearance after a spell in Iceland.

The player left Moss Lane in February to join Richmond Eagles in Australia.

"The problem only emerged because he went from us to Australia," an Altrincham spokesman said.

"The first we knew of the problem was when they (Richmond) came back to us and said they had discovered he was still registered to play in Iceland when he signed for Accrington."

The Altrincham spokesman continued: "As far as the club are concerned, the manager Graham Heathcote, and the chairman both want to speak to the players before saying anything more.

"The appeal needs to be made within two weeks, so we are expecting written confirmation of the punishment very soon."

Disgraceful decision in my opinion, only a small admin error at a part time football club and they get deducted 18 points and almost certain relegation.

Any chance of you swallowing your pride and admitting that you were wrong? There are plenty of other examples elsewhere in this thread too, but this one really is a keeper! :bouncy:

As for the match itself, yes, we were clinging on by our fingertips at the end. The substitutions seemed ill-advised, and we really had our hearts in our mouths until the ref finally blew the whistle for full time. But we beat them fair and square, and we were the better team for the majority of the match, too. Even the most appallingly inept refereeing display you'll see this season, Drogba's continually unpunished off sides and Robben's Olympic standard diving displays couldn't stop us taking what was ours - and where better to do it than in the home of the spent force? :bouncy:

Mourinho screwed-up big time with his inept team selection and inferior tactical nous, proving once again that even Abramovich's millions can't buy talent like Stevie Gerrard and Rafa Benitez, the world's greatest manager. :spin:

I heard about this issue with Altrincham, is the decision to deduct 18 points and a fine of £1000 confirmed or is it being awaited?

Deserved the win, not the 1st goal, but it happens

Talking of Champions League........to the tune of Liverpool's "We are the Champions, Champions of Europe"....... "We are Benfica, Lions Of Lisbon"

Took out both Man U and Liverpool.......not bad considering the Portuguese League is poor and the English League is the 3rd best in Europe.

Not that I support Benfica, I just found it funny :joker:

13 Games?

No offence, but if a club plays an ineliglible player for that long, then punishment is deserved.

The question I ask: - Why did he take so long to realise this?

Also, had it been a big club (Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool), would the sentence be the same?

No.

Drew 0-0 @ Roda JC tonight in the UEFA Cup playoffs.

4 players booked too :nono:

That's me done for a day. I'll collect my abusive responses tomorrow

Alty signed him in good faith after he was at Accrington, they would not suspect that he had not got international clearance seeing as he'd been playing for another English side albeit at reserve level. The player is at fault imo, he hid the truth that he had been playing in Iceland previously and just said he'd been released by Crewe Alexandra when asking for a trial at Accrington.

Dan_ 22-04-2006 09:01 PM

:mad::mad::mad::mad: ****ing ref we had in the game against York today, he may even cost us a play-off place after his **** decisions. York scored a goal that our striker(Darryn Stamp) felt was offside and he said that to the linesman, the ref comes over does not even speak to the linesman and sends off Stamp. Then our manager complains about the decision and get's sent down the tunnel then we get a well deserved equaliser just before half time. The ref has to have a police escort down the tunnel at half time due to irate players and fans ready to flip their lid. So we are down to 10 men after 38 mins and trying to beat a side one place below us in the table with a clown for a ref who's ignoring handballs and giving free-kicks for nothing challenges, then he goes and top's it all off right at the end, York player goes down rolling around as if he has been shot for about 5 mins and as soon as he is put onto the stretcher he jumps right off, our captain has a go at the player and the physio and end's up getting a straight red card for it.

Worst.Ref.Ever.
