Not sure if that's showing as it's not appearing for me but it says:

"#Eastenders at its best with long burning tickling schemer of a storyline. This twist was in planning & undercover for around 18 months"

The execution was obviously SOC because it was absolutely ****ing terrible but Rory Nugent, who used to work on the show just tweeted

SOC devised it ages ago.

See above thanks

SOC would have been employed 18 months back so he would have had final decisions

DTC left in May 2016 unless I'm mistaken?

Firewire 22-09-2017 07:53 PM

Yeah 6th May

18 months would be March/April

Denver 22-09-2017 07:54 PM

But he confirmed he would be leaving months in advance with SOC already chosen

Denver 22-09-2017 07:54 PM

Im sure he quit in Feb and said he will stay till Peggy's death/Funeral

Marsh. 22-09-2017 07:54 PM

Has Ashley gif'd Kim's reaction to the police knocking at Sonia's yet? :joker:

Firewire 22-09-2017 07:55 PM

He announced he was leaving in Feb but left in May

SOC didn't start until July

Denver 22-09-2017 07:55 PM

But they would have spoken about storylines

Marsh. 22-09-2017 07:57 PM

So Dom planned a revenge story for Max including JWB?

I wouldn't mind if the Gavin stuff was good and then this stuff with Max was an actual story and not just a series of events over a few months.

It all had the makings of a brilliant epic story that's spanned nearly three years since Kathy's return.

Lucy's death triggering Kathy's return, Kathy's return triggering JWB'S return but it's all been so mundane

Marsh. 22-09-2017 07:59 PM

Rory only worked under DTC so would only have known about stories planned when DTC was there .

He said he left the cupboard full of stories for Sean if he wished to use them

And I'm assuming this included Max's revenge and JWB's return but I keep getting attacked when I state anything of the sort so who knows

He would have had to sign it of with SOC you cant plan 2 years of storylines for no reason

September to December (the end of Newman's era) was pretty solid

That doesn't excuse the earlier three quarters of that year being the worst state a soap had ever been up till that point. The bulk of Newman's shit was literally unwatchable.

I agree that it stepped up at the end though. It was that Halloween episode that got me watching properly again.

You think another producer would sign up to work on something they are not allowed any say in? you not that stupid to think that

I didn't say that

You should read back and it might make more sense

Doesn't mean O'Connor was the mastermind behind any of those stories though does it.

Going by your logic he tried to grip the nation by Denise's English and rats and then suddenly came up with a two-year-long revenge story for Max. Does that make any sense to you?

Denver 22-09-2017 08:10 PM

He had to do the casting and try to entist the old actor back and with his team wok the storylines out
