…I watched the first episode of Griselda on Netflix yesterday and really enjoyed it…I wasn’t sure that I would be able to absorb in characters so quickly so soon after Killing Eve but I think it’s going to be a very riveting watch…

Thanks Ammi  there doesn't seem to be an infection I don't think, the wound itself isn't too bad, it's not bled since or anything, it's my cheek, ear and neck that are really bad, especially my cheek, the swelling is gone down a little today but it stings

Finished S3 yesterday, I enjoyed it

Spoiler:

Sad they killed Kenny though, I liked him

…I can’t recall how long mine was painful for when it was removed so I googled and that said around 3 to 7 days…so you’re well into it now and hopefully will start to feel brighter soon…hang on in there and keep watching TV series…

Spoiler:

…yeah, I was really sad with his death but as much as we don’t want these things to happen, they also help to keep the storyline motivated because everything needs to happen to follow on to something else…and I do like series that take us out of our ‘comfort zone’ as well and have those shock moments…we might not like them but they keep us absorbed…

…yes, very dark already in the first episode…but I guess there are only 6 episodes to its conclusion…and I guess that real lives must be darker than fiction, I think the saying goes……

…see, this is the first thing I’ve seen her in, Zizu…I wasn’t familiar with her at all and had no knowledge of her being more in comedy roles until you’ve just said, so I don’t attach her to comedy at all or anything else…..I’ll look her up…

…I promise that I won’t watch it for the moment……but yeah, I can see what you’re saying…to readily think of her as a comedy actress is not a thought I’ve had…

…I only have two more episodes to go, Griselda is quite a quick watch …

…I had to stop watching last night because I got too tired and was forgetting to read the subtitles when they were on…I was listening intently and totally concentrating and just overlooking the thing that I hadn’t understood anything that was said…

…I finished watching Griselda yesterday evening…I don’t know how much of the details are true and how much is padded out for dramatic impact but it’s obviously very brutal and pretty incredible for her to have made her mark in such a male dominated world…a good watch…

Update on my opinions of all three Shows.

Hannibal - Overall a fantastic Show, NBC should be proud of the first two Seasons, and three great Actors who play Hannibal, Will and Jack.

However I will say that I think Season 3 has been poor so far after watching just under half of the season.

My main issues with the Season are these two things.

1. The plot meandering with really boring scenes to try and look all artsy, or doing trippy psychological scenes that are essentially about nothing, but it makes it look like something is happening. And Will unfortunately in the first 5 episodes was left with a nonsensical character to interact with, which I will cover now.

2. The writing for Chiyoh (a new character that has been drafted into Season 3) feels kinda pointless to the story, and ultimately her writing makes no sense to me, and that's saying something when I'm understanding the writing for Alana more, and she's basically degrading as a character with each Season.:joker:

And to add, I do think that both Alana and Gillian Anderson's character have both faced rewrites this Season, they're both good Actresses (especially Gillian Anderson) but I do feel like the writers have gone from "character growth" to not even the same personality anymore with Alana. And Gillian Anderson's character has gone from believing Will's innocence and kind of being scared of Hannibal in Season 2, to now being more shady herself in Season 3.

And btw that's not to say that the Show still doesn't have it's moments, in particular Jack as a character and the second half of episode 5 have been strengths for the Season.

Black Lagoon - I've done the first 6 episodes of Season 2, and tbh I'm really enjoying it still, Revy is the perfect woman and a really entertaining character, Rock is an interesting character that's very different to everybody else on the Show, and Dutch and I think the blonde one's name is Benny? Are also really fun characters.

Plus I'm seeing more from certain side characters that were established in Season 1 which I like to see a world that's actually growing.

And I've got to say that the first three episodes of Season 2 has got to be my personal favourite arc of the Show so far, you know the villains are twisted when it's bothering Chang (who once threatened someone with "turning their balls into nuts") and even he was bothered by the villains at the start of Season 2, it was good stuff.

Overall a good start to Season 2 for Black Lagoon imo.

And I've done the first 15 episodes of Clannad, and again I'm really enjoying it in a very different way to how I'm enjoying Hannibal and Black Lagoon.

A warning to anyone that doesn't like Fantasy though, Clannad has very minor elements of Fantasy in the Anime.

Oh and on the Reality TV front I'm watching The Traitors UK Series 2 which has been highly entertaining imo, the best Reality Show at the moment on current form I personally feel. Although my favourite got murdered in the penultimate episode by the bastard Traitors.:fist::joker:

And The Masked Singer UK Series 5, which is okay, but I feel like it can't recreate the qualities of the first two Seasons I feel.

I've finished Hannibal.

Overall a very good Show (I can't believe that the Networks in America had a Show like this) I really enjoyed it, Season 3 imo is the weakest Season due to a really slow start to the Season, and some bizarre character development for a couple of the characters.

But I do think that episode 5 and episodes 8-13 are really good episodes in the Season, Richard Armitage's character is very entertaining in the Season.:joker:

I've only got three episodes left of Black Lagoon, I will definitely miss Revy and the gang, it's such a fun Anime to watch.

And I'm going to finally be starting Clannad: After Story (basically Season 2 of Clannad) I'm hoping that it'll be good because Season 1 surprised me with how much I liked it.

In particular Okazaki and Sunohara have my favourite performances in Season 1.

GoldHeart 01-02-2024 10:13 PM

I know I'm like 9 years behind ,but I'm halfway through Scream Queen's. Series is wild and a dark comedy.

Has some really annoying characters who play their parts well.

But overall it's keeping me fairly entertained at the moment.

Yes .. both are strong 7/10 series to my mind … both have my complete attention but for different reasons ..

Both have a strong , charismatic lead character/ actor , both are very likeable and good men fighting against evil / bad .

Yet they couldn’t be more different in that one is a basic crime series and Grimm features all manner of monsters ( done in a rather unique way )

…thank you for recommending……I’ve just binged the first series of Back to a life this evening…I like it very much, it’s such a perfectly blended mix of comedy and poignancy and a powerful storyline…with some great oddball and quirky characters…:flutter:…although the storyline itself isn’t comparable, it has a very similar vibe as Rain Dogs, I don’t know if that’s a series you’ve seen…?…but it’s another good watch that I’d recommend…it’s just a similar blend of quirky but very powerful as well….
