that word is NOT equal to the N word though :oh:

JerseyWins 23-07-2018 12:47 AM

Nothing wrong with what JC was trying to say but he should've just said "n word" if he wanted to make that comparison to explain how short people feel about the word midget.

Macie Lightfoot 23-07-2018 12:48 AM

"I know a thing or two about being discriminated against" :skull:

montblanc 23-07-2018 12:48 AM

JC's obviously ignorant but he's a trump supporter so what's new :skull:

montblanc 23-07-2018 12:49 AM

we love bayleigh and that's THAT

JerseyWins 23-07-2018 12:53 AM

Yeah I agree with Bayleigh though... really he didn't even need to go there to explain his point because she isn't dumb and could've gotten it by him just saying it's offensive to short people :joker:

Macie Lightfoot 23-07-2018 12:55 AM

Yeah I think the big difference which Bayleigh is trying to articulate but not doing that good of a job with is that she was asking whether a word is offensive while JC is using a word that he knew was offensive.

Neither of them really came off that great but JC seemed to have an attitude of not wanting anyone to be more discriminated against than him.

Jack_ 23-07-2018 12:56 AM

Full credit, that was really well put together

Don't think there's been as poignant/emotive moment like that on BBUS like...ever?

Headie 23-07-2018 12:57 AM

I lowkey wish they hadn't shown that because I feel like it's given all the Trump viewers ammunition to hate on Bayleigh even tho she was completely in the right. Plus the fact they were censoring words that weren't equal to the N word makes JC look justified :skull:

Jack_ 23-07-2018 12:58 AM

messs not the slut shaming

'I wanna hug' :joker:

JerseyWins 23-07-2018 12:59 AM

DAMNIT I missed the speech and I come back to Haleigh & Kaitlyn crying about Sam's speech? :omgno:

Macie Lightfoot 23-07-2018 12:59 AM

Yiiiiiiiiiiiikes that speech was just as bad :skull:

Not to mention that she literally just used it as an opportunity to grandstand and talk **** about two people in a week where SHE KNOWS NOBODY IS GOING HOME most likely.

the twitter casuals are going off already :bored:

montblanc 23-07-2018 01:02 AM

both words are derogatory but they do NOT hold the same weight and CBS edited that to make it look like they do

Not at all... I thought it was poorly edited if I'm being honest with you. At least coming from a POC perspective.

Headie 23-07-2018 01:05 AM

I'm glad Jackie ditched his ass

Macie Lightfoot 23-07-2018 01:06 AM

Yeah I feel like CBS was trying too hard to make that A Moment and it lasted a little bit too long. And both of them really weren't listening to each other, they were just talking in circles.

his tweets and a lot of the other tweets in the #BB20 hashtag remind me a lot of the discrimination thread

And if they really wanna go this route, where is the footage of JC sexually harassing the women or Angela making racist remarks about skin tones? Guarantee we'll NEVER see that in the main show.

JerseyWins 23-07-2018 01:11 AM

JC was fine in that, he just kinda aggressively always thinks he's right (as we see in all his comedy scenes) and he made a bad decision to even bring up the n word let alone say the actual word.

Bayleigh didn't look great tbh even though she was technically making the better point if she explained it better :joker:

I don't even understand why she needs to 'explain it better' if you already know she was in the right/has the better point?

People are always reaching and it pisses me off so much

That's fair enough, for me I came into this like a lot of people (admittedly having not seen the original clip) thinking it was going to be edited solely in JC's favour

I appreciate that you may have seen it that way but I don't think it actually transpired like that in the end. I think they made a point of giving equal weighting to "both sides" (for want of a better phrase). Bayleigh got way more DR time than I was anticipating too. I have no personal stake in this debate so I totally respect that those who do will disagree...but IMO, any reality show worth its salt should be providing a balanced, objective edit and allowing the viewers to form their own conclusions - regardless of the subject matter. The way I see it is, the inevitable reaction from casuals is on them, rather than CBS. They were always going to take JC's side no matter what

Jack_ 23-07-2018 01:22 AM

On the censoring of 'midget'...I'm guessing they were just covering their backs from a legal standpoint

If they air it unedited they're just opening the floodgates to more 'BUT YOU CENSORED THE N WORD????'
