i think they have performed way above expectation and that's whats important.
I watched a lady mp earlier today and she said she was going to take up arms against the russians to protect her family. I have total respect for them. I used to view them as a bit of a joke in years gone by, not any more. |
[Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
has published a video from the streets of Kyiv after rumours in the Russian media that he had fled the capital. "We are all here," he said, surrounded by key advisers and his prime minister. We are protecting our independence, our state. And we will continue to do so." ] He Posted on Facebook. He would do better to leave as he has a Price on his head |
Depends on how seriously he takes his duty to the country, arista. If he stays and is killed he becomes a martyr and an inspiration to the people of the country. If he flees then most likely its not long until everyone else starts putting down their guns and waving the white flag.

i think he is facing a pretty bleak outcome. They could easily ship him off to a prison in Siberia that no-one comes home from, or they shoot him

Russia is a right wing endeavour - Corbyn is left wing and has no sympathies or allignment with a Putin regime, beyond not wanting war (how terrible). However, you may not remember this, and as another poster brought this up, it seems fair game, but during the poisoning scandal, NATO called an emergency summit to tackle Russia. Boris Johnson - who was home sec at the time, walked out of the conference, ditched his handlers, went to a Berlusconi partiy, where he hosted Russian oligarchs. The son of one of the attendees at that party was recently given a lifetime in the house of lords and collects his money from them to this day. So pray tell, who's the Russian sympathiser? I hate to do this, but falsely throwing around anti-Semitism claims to use Jews to do your bidding really is anti Semitic, but have you ever read Boris' novel, by chance? Where he talks of curly haired jews with proud noses controlling the media. You should check it out. Here's Boris showing how you really should treat terrorists, though... https://mediacloud.theweek.co.uk/ima...n%20Salman.jpg Here's the thing, diplomacy is essential part of being a country, so I don't see the big deal with talking to adversaries and people you disagree with, but unfortunately we're not playing by the same rules. |

So Russia has now threatened to attack Sweden and Finland should they dare join Nato which shows this is more then trying to reclaim the USSR, they want a full blown war which they don't have the means to win even if they drafted in the couple of allies they have, China will not defend Russia in a war as they are not stupid and know how much they rely on international trade

For the second night in a row, thousands of Georgians have turned out in the capital Tblisi to protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russia invaded Georgia in 2008 to aid pro-Russia separatist forces. Experts have drawn many parallels between that conflict and the one currently unfurling in Ukraine. Some members of the crowd - estimated at 30,000 - chanted slogans against the current Georgian government, after the ruling party said it would not join the Western sanctions on Russia. “I want to state clearly and unambiguously, considering our national interests and interests of the people, Georgia does not plan to participate in the financial and economic sanctions, as this would only damage our country and populace more,” the country's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said earlier on Friday. The protesters said the PM's move represented a cowardly abandonment of the Ukrainian people. |
