[Croatia came second with the raucous party anthem Rim Tim Tagi Dim, while the UK's Olly Alexander was consigned to 18th place, out of 25. The Years and Years singer received the dreaded "nul points" from the public, but was saved from last place by the jury vote. They awarded his song, Dizzy, 46 points] |
It was a good night overall. Happy Nemo won it though but I voted Baby and Bambie

That's a fair improvement on being consigned to 23rd to 25th. Like most years |

I concur apart from Dizzy which deserved to be challenging as its a fabulous pop song and Ireland which was truly horrendous ( song and performance) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I get that it won't be to everyone's taste though. |
Croatia were robbed. That was clearly the best song. Don't rate Switzerland entry at all

Ollie Alexander
This is where box ticking gets you. With nothing. |

Until any artiste can do more to get the public votes.
The UK will no matter who it puts in. Never do well. This was a good improvement on last year.and many years positions. On the jury votes the UK was in the top half. However the public vote just didn't as usual give anything to the UK. One country only got 1 vote and how Austria' got only 5 votes tom the public is mystifying. It may help if like other Nations, instead of running the UK and the artiste/s efforts down. Britons got behind their entry like other Nations. What happened in Sam Ryder's year I haven't a clue. His was one song I didn't care for. Although would have loved him to win. Most juries gave the UK no votes, then 3 others 6 and 8. Belgium, Iceland and Sweden. The rest of western Europe, and Eastern Europe, nothing. I'm always left wondering about the voting on Eurovision. However for me. Avoiding the last 3 and avoid having no points at all is about all the UK can hope for. I really doubt we'd win or do really well I just think the UKs image worldwide means across the World, we're overlooked more than not. Staging may have been a factor too. France for instance had a microphone that was all and he came 3 rd. Staging however cannot be blamed for our dismal showing last year. Second last being one of our more usual positions. Unless a group, maybe toosny others onstage doesn't help. The top 3 had limited staging and no extras onstage really. It's best treated as like a festival performance for most Nations. Not a serious competition. I still say well done Olly, he deserved better but then so did many others too who got very few votes too. Eurovision is a really cranky and crazy event However great fun too. |
Norway undeservingly last place, too alternate for eurovision maybe, but i am a fan
Gunnhild is a Queen of Vocals :worship: Germany a 12th place against all odds :clap1: :clap1: decent jury result and surprising 18 points from the public, which is more than usually from the televoters 20th for Estonia i can live with, decent, also nice they said ''dank je wel'' after their performance, for their support to Joost  now they can focus on stanning Borussia Dortmund in the final of the CL :D |
Israel finished above the Irish witch.
The UK’s 12 points from the public vote went to Israel. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GNVS-_VW...jpg&name=small |

Good News LT Ireland picked the wrong singer last night. |

Thank **** Israel didn’t win in the end.
Osterdahl needs to resign. Delighted for Nemo. Wanted Croatia. Intrigued as to how Switzerland host a modern Eurovision. You know how the likes of Sweden and Italy do it because they’re just upscaled versions of their NFs. |
