It is sunny here.
My fat Charlie is sunbathing at the bottom of the garden.

Joe444 just mentioned about a sunday paper.

I remembered my colleague told me years ago.

She had a visitor from Japan, he was a uni lecturer and stayed in London for weeks.
The first Sunday he went to a corner shop alone to buy a sunday paper.
He spotted and bought "News of The World".
He was expecting the paper had news from all over the world.

How little he knew.
(I bet he bought it again following sunday.:D)

Listening to a conversation between a barber and my husband.

The Barber, very old - should retire ages ago :D - asking my husband where he lives. He asks this question almost every time we go.
But my husband, equally forgetful, is answering like he was asked for the first time.

Corrie seems to have a good balance of drama and laughs. EE has just been depressing recently. Well, mostly actually :joker:

Helping someone who'd had a nasty accident. Not the accident making me smile of course but being there for a stranger in need did. I surprised myself. I thought I'd go to pieces in a situation like that (though I was wobbly afterwards)

Have you done your first aid course kerry? Always comes in handy in situations like that.

When I used to work in a nightclub, some girl got glassed badly...and none of the managers could handle the blood (which made me think they were in no way fit for the job) and I ended up having to clean her up until the ambulance got there. Blood doesnt bother me in the slightest...never has.

When you nearly knock someone out with an umbrella :L

No though I've learnt a lot self taught and through following TV courses and things. Also got a 'lifesaver' guide which I read through and try to remember.

The kid today came hurtling down our hill on a bike with no breaks. All I can remember seeing was his terrified face as he came towards the house at speed and next thing heard a massive thud. I ran out and found him and the bike in a heap crumpled against the wall. In hindsight he was very lucky. If he'd have turned more left he'd have come through our front window. More right and he'd have gone over a car bonnet.

Vicky. 26-10-2010 07:47 PM

Sounds awful. Is he ok then? Apart from obvious bruises and that?

Very very shocked and bumped. He kept saying sorry! He was walking and coherant though so just saw him home and told him to stop saying sorry and tell someone if he felt dizzy at any time. He was only about 11. He also said thankyou though. Unheard of with some kids

Aww he sounds lovely. Glad to hear he is ok. Very very lucky child though.

I think his parents should invest in a new bike, with brakes that work
