But if Real Madrid offered a generous amount, say 18 million pounds, for Clichy would it be wise to for Arsene Wenger to take the offer and use the money to stock up on quality defenders and midfielders which are perhaps more urgently required for this evolving Arsenal team?

Bearing in mind that hot prospect Kieran Gibbs filled in at left back sensationally in Clichy's absence, and despite his tender age is more than capable of filling in at the left flank and would grow with experience. Furthermore, the returning Armand Traore will add even more competition for places as his loan spell at Portsmouth is bound to have aided his development.

So if Madrid are willing to pay a big amount for Gael Clichy should the Gunners cash in?

No, i Think alongside possibly cole, Clichy is the best left back in the premier league, gibbs is good but as back up would be best.

as for traore i am not sure hes really good enough. If they offer 25m maybe.
