tibb has a habit of doing this and it takes the piss :bored:

maybe that's because the only people who know don't want to discuss it/is a mod (Vicky)?

Ammi 20-04-2014 10:42 PM

..anyway that's all I'll say on it but I do think sometimes that members should be able to voice things without causing arguments or being abusive because otherwise it just causes confusion and probably builds up misunderstandings that can lead to negative feelings ...

Vicky. 20-04-2014 10:44 PM

Undeleted my original post (probably the wrong thing to do so someone else may make it disappear later on  ) as I guess if some people read it and others didnt..then its not 'fair' :/

People have bee banned by mistake once or twice I will admit, and those tend to get overturned, but its no way as often as people think it is D:

..I don't think that people generally do think things are done for no reason, I think it's more for me that members can't ever seem to ask anything or mention anything without being told to hush up and it's often not asked to cause a drama and asked in a respectful way but really telling people to hush up is very poor communication imo...and I never thought I would ever say anything negative about how TiBB is run...

..anyway, that really is my last post on this...

Can't you just start adding reasons to the ban list thing? Like you used to do in that thread...it's a nice little feature but I've always thought whenever there's no explanation for someone's ban these problems of people asking/saying they got banned for no reason are going to continue

This went on even with the ban list, we were just accused of lying/exagerrating then :p

I agree with this.

Vicky. 20-04-2014 10:52 PM

I do think though..for long term bans it might be a good idea to have a ban list type thing, that explains the final warning they got, etc etc.

Shorter bans it just doesnt work, as most of the time the reason is 'build up of infractions' and people STILL go 'omgz he was banned for a fortnight for calling someone a dick' when the member actually only got a 1 pointer for it or something

tbh that ban list thingy should just keep a list of all banned members until they are unbanned (unless it's a permaban)

Vicky. 20-04-2014 10:57 PM

IIRC there was talks about adding a reason part to it..as we have to add a reason to give a ban in the first place...so given that it updates automatically it seems adding the reason wouldnt be too hard. Not sure what happened to that

Read the thread, Vicky says he was banned for sending racist PMs and then said maybe she shouldn't have spoken about it and can't elaborate. :bored:

..I also think that being told not to ever mention anything on the forum or have anything explained, doesn't actually remove any confused or negative feelings, it just means that people are more likely to voice them privately, which actually is never a good idea because it just often makes those feelings grow and become more negative, like a 'low morale' thing..it's always better to be open with anything that you're not sure about or want to ask...

That's a one way trip to ban city on here. I was more than vocal when I first came here about this places sweep everything under the carpet policy but tbh now I've realised they can't win whatever they do. If they let people have freedom to mention banned people or previous spats it usually ends up in 10 page slagging matches because let's face it anyone can be brave behind a keyboard.

I've reported your post.

You're trying to rally up some kind of revolt against the mods, I know your game.

Samm 20-04-2014 11:33 PM

I think Jay is bwoty :worry:

James 20-04-2014 11:37 PM

The trouble with people wanting all these banned members unbanned is that the posts they get banned for get deleted, so people never see what they were banned for in the first place.

Can posts just not be deleted then? And threads closed rather than deleted or cleaned? And just be stricter on people continuing an argument in a thread if they've been told to stop, i.e. rather than deleting the posts with arguing just punishing those who carry on? Just to make things more transparent so people know what really went on
