Brazil have dropped Manchester United winger Antony following allegations of abuse by his former girlfriend.

The Brazilian football federation said the 23-year-old had been withdrawn from the squad after "facts became public" that "need to be investigated".

Brazilian news outlet UOL published allegations made by Antony's ex-partner on Monday.

Police in Sao Paulo and Greater Manchester are investigating the claims, which the player has denied.

i think there is a lot going on at Man U that we are not aware of yet, and it will all come out eventually. Compare the club now to how it was run during the glory fergie years

I still think ManU will fight for the 4th or 5th spot with Spurs above Newcastle and Chelsea and the rest

Apparently Sancho turns up late for training and can't be arsed while he is there, so that's the problem. Southgate had the same issues when he trained for england

Referees' chief Howard Webb says Manchester City's second goal in their 5-1 win over Fulham on Saturday should not have counted.

City retook the lead through Nathan Ake but Webb believes Manuel Akanji, standing in an offside position, caused goalkeeper Bernd Leno to hesitate.

"It's a clear situation of offside," Webb told Match Officials: Mic'd Up.

This season referees' body the PGMOL and the Premier League are releasing in-game audio from officials.

"From the outset I think this should have been disallowed. It certainly appears Akanji has an impact on the goalkeeper who seems to hesitate," added Webb on the first episode of Match Officials: Mic'd Up, shown on Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

Webb also said the video assistant referee (VAR) should have awarded Wolves a late penalty against Manchester United in the two sides' opening game of the season.

He added that John Brooks' decision to send off Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk against Newcastle was correct.

And Alejandro Garnacho's strike against Arsenal for Manchester United was "rightly disallowed" for offside.

As regards all these brilliant goals being disallowed for Offside by a millimetre… I recall the days when the attacking team was always given the benefit of the doubt in close call decisions

We should return that rule .. clear daylight or it’s a goal ..

Howard Webb has made it even worse, worse.

He's been dining as a guest of man united in their corporate section. Mans is so corrupt it's untrue.

Manchester United shares have seen their biggest ever one-day fall after a report that the team's US owners are going to take it off the market.

The club's shares fell by more than 18% in New York on Tuesday.

That came after the Mail on Sunday reported that no potential buyer had matched the club's asking price.

The US-based Glazer family announced in November it was considering selling the Premier League club as they explored "strategic alternatives".

Manchester United's co-chairmen, brothers Joel and Avram Glazer, are holding out for an offer of £10bn, according to the Mail on Sunday.

However, prospective bidders Sheikh Jassim of Qatar and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe had not come close to offering that amount, the paper said.

The newspaper cited a source with long-standing close ties to the club's owners as saying the Glazer family may try again next year to sell the team when they hoped to attract more bidders.

3. PSG - £863m
4. Arsenal - £745m
5. Man City - £732m

it reflects on Man U's poor transfer policy, the recent window shows that no-one wants their players when they want to sell them, or they are paying such high salaries that players would need to take a cut to leave

Manchester United winger Antony has agreed to delay his return to the club "to address allegations" of assault made against him.

The 23-year-old was due back to training on Monday after being dropped from Brazil's squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru.

But United say it has been agreed with the player that he will delay his return until further notice in order to address the matter.

This is going to be another player going out on loan

A collection of shirts amassed by a mystery ex-England footballer during the 1990 World Cup is going on sale.

The eight shirts, being sold by Derbyshire-based Hansons Auctioneers, were collected during England's seven games in the tournament, which saw the team defeated in the semi-finals by West Germany.

A signed yellow shirt, worn by goalkeeper Peter Shilton during the penalty defeat, is also up for sale.

The collection could fetch £300,000.

Charles Hanson, owner of the auction firm, said he could not reveal which ex-England star was selling the shirts "due to client confidentiality".

"However, he played a crucial role in Italia 1990 and enjoyed a stellar career in football," he said.

Man Utd winger Jadon Sancho will train away from the first team until issues with manager Erik ten Hag are resolved.

Ten Hag left Sancho out of his squad for the loss at Arsenal earlier this month, saying the winger's training performances had been below standard.

Sancho, 23, rejected the Dutchman's reasoning and claimed he had been "a scapegoat for a long time".

United said in a statement Sancho would be on a "personal training programme away from the first team".

The statement added that the decision was made "pending resolution of a squad discipline issue."

The news comes in a week where another United forward, Antony, also stepped away from first-team duties amid domestic abuse allegations made by his former partner.

There is still a toxic environment at united, they are just papering over the cracks
