Walcott pens Arsenal deal
By England MAD

Friday, 8th May 2009
Theo Walcott has handed Arsenal a timely boost after agreeing a new long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners saw their last chance of silverware this season ended by their Champions League semi-final defeat to Manchester United in midweek.

Walcott has eased the sense of disappointment after pledging his long-term future to the north London club.

The England forward joined Arsenal as a 16-year-old prospect from Southampton in January 2006 and has scored 14 goals in 106 appearances for the Gunners.

"We are absolutely delighted that Theo has committed his long-term future to Arsenal Football Club," manager Arsene Wenger told the club's official website.

"Theo is an intelligent player with amazing ability and speed and has developed extremely well this season.

"At still only 20 years of age, Theo has huge potential for the forthcoming years and we are all looking forward to see him grow even more in an Arsenal shirt."
Walcott staying at Arsenal, if he progresses thats a good thing... he does need to improve.

Theo Walcott hopes his new contract will convince Robin van Persie to also pen his deal with Arsenal.

"The likes of Robin and everyone else, hopefully if they get sorted out, it shows the belief I have got in this team because this team can go very far," said Walcott.

"Every time I have a warm-down I look around the team and see there are some really good players here and I want to be part of it.

"Hopefully we can be right up there with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool and have a great challenge for it next year."
He also wants Van Persie to sign a new deal, Van Persie has said hes not going anywhere though.

It could be an all-American board at Arsenal this summer.

The Guardian says Stan Kroenke's investment in Arsenal could be stepped up in partnership with Philip Anschutz, according to US sources.

Kroenke bought the Colorado Rapids from Anschutz, the other billionaire sports tycoon from that state. Despite his low-profile Anschutz has been involved in several significant sports investments in England.

His Anschutz Entertainment Group operates the O2 arena, was responsible for David Beckham's £128m move to LA Galaxy and has a hand in his global academy franchises. AEG declined to comment on suggestions of his Kroenke partnership.
Arsenal could also have some money season coming.

And Wenger will be offered a new deal.

Quote:

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will soon be offered a new deal by the club.

Chairman Peter Hill-Wood said the Frenchman’s future was in no doubt despite another trophy-less season.

"Arsene's future is not in question, although I am sure there will be people who have nothing better to do trying to suggest it is," Hill-Wood told the Daily Star.

"He has another season left on his contract and if he was to ask for an extension we would be delighted.

"But he hasn't discussed it with us and we haven't discussed it with him. There are other things to think about."

Strange... typed R Kelly into youtube and an Everton video came up using an R. Kelly song. At least Everton fans have a good taste in music anyway.

Torres plays Gerrard through, he takes it around the keeper and finishes it off.

0-1 after 77 seconds.

30stone 09-05-2009 05:20 PM

Wow Fulham Thats quality 3 - 1
West brom 3 - 1 to wigan to duno whats happened to them..

And blackburn 2 - 0 quality results for them.

Should be Liverpool 2 - 1 West ham to.

Lucky liverpool powers made him slip.

Locke. 09-05-2009 05:23 PM

Boa Morte gets frustrated and pulls Torres down in the box. 0-2. Gerrard missed a pen but got the rebound. Then he gives a throw in away and throw the ball still frustrated. If he doesn't calm down he'll be sent off in the second half.

Di Michelle breaks through, falls over his own feet and appeals for a penalty. Yellow card.

We've scored 100 goals this season now :spin: And Torres needs 1 more to make it 50 goals in a Liverpool shirt.

30stone 09-05-2009 05:28 PM

Liverpool getting a Penalty surprise surprise, gerrard taking it... surprise surprise....
Di Michelle slipped, didnt appeal just annoyed no reason for the yellow.

As for the Reading game 0 - 0 at 48 mins.

Reading have dominated in the first half penalty claims and about 5 great shots on goal.

He did, turned around and threw his arms in the air, then when he realized he wasn't getting one he lied down again.

Yeah watching the Reading game now, Doyle almost scored earlier, had one cleared off the line.

30stone 09-05-2009 05:34 PM

Yeah the shot cleared off the line was crazy we have about 10 people in my liveing room everyone jumped up lol.

Did you see where Shane long was tripped?

Burnley player pretty much fell over but i think he done it on purpose and went straight infront of long who was just watching the ball, and had his legs taken out.

Should have been a Penalty.

Need to score 1 or 2 at Burnley.

Our home record hasnt been the best recently.
