TiBB Does The Apprentice - Task 3 Results. Now.

Firstly, let's see what Lord ShuGrr thought of your efforts, and which team has won task 3!

"Before I begin critiquing both side's performances I have to say I was both impressed and a little amused with both team's focusing on the idea of these plans and trips having to meet certain criteria that weren't asked for, for example: availability (I saw one team scrap a whole idea because the tickets were out of stock, and in all honesty I doubt any of us would have noticed ), the proximity and likelihood of us being able to travel to and from events within time, and the ideas of themes. A lot of thought was put into this and both sind like pretty good weekends, but there were a couple of ideas that just grossed me out tbh :idc:

Pioneer
I had to step in briefly and remind your team that the idea of me wearing a suit from George at ASDA may have resulted in instant failure, so I was pleased to see you up your game afterwards. A lot of the designs and little customisations you came up with were really to my taste - for example, the suits and the idea of a hangover recovery pack made me giggle like a slut.

However, there was one thing that was quite difficult to understand and that was your pitch. Although I appreciate MTVN's efforts, the pitch was a little confusing and could've been laid out more clearly, some spoilers containing the more surplus information and some headings and bolds for the dates, times and key information. As a result I was reading it thinking "is this for Friday? No it must be Sunday, OK idfk".

I'd also like to know whose idea it was to serve me and my client zebra and frog's legs... at some points we thought we were enduring a Bushtucker trial rather than a fine meal. That said, the zorbing, the idea of a flask of whiskey to cope with intolerable clients concealed in my jacket, and a hangover cure were fun ideas, but I have to take this seriously. I wanted to die when me and my client found out we'd arrived at Stringfellows, and he stormed out furiously.

Prospect
Again, Apple wrote out a pretty fantastic & convincing pitch. There was a stronger concentration on the idea of securing business contracts here, and there was the impression that this was taken a little more professionally by your team.

Your set menus were unfortunate on the account that I hate mushrooms (risotto) and the idea of 'cauliflower soup' made me want to fire my secretary, but the 2nd night seemed better. Whilst at the Sarastro restaurant, however, my client remarked that the whole building was very loud, decorated heavily with distracting arts and fabrics, and we were unable to secure a deal :idc: I was left doubly embarrassed by the fact that you'd only budgeted for one person's meal - I ended up having to pay out of pocket for my client.

In general - I preferred your hotel, I preferred your pitch and I enjoyed the idea of a 'Best of British' theme, but the Beatles thing was a little bit low-key and cheesy, and there were a few too many scheduling errors. I think you missed a trick with booking the Aston Martin for the Beatles day rather than the Bond one.

General
This is tough for me. I found Pioneer's ideas funny and in all seriousness there were a lot of little attention-to-detail inclusions that are swinging me to your team. But I think you completely underestimated the tone of the task and in all likelihood taking clients to eat strange meats and then lapdancing would really struggle to get you anywhere. Prospect again sold their plans better, and despite a few blunders in the budgeting, were able to dazzle some clients.

I think I'm going to have to take this down to: which night reminded me more of a vaudevillian drug trip, and which night was more executive? Therefore, for me, Prospect are this task's winners."

heyy!! I wrote Half the speech, about the Hotel and Suit!! ;)

And woop I found the Hotel

GREAT JOB GUYS!! another win :D Good luck to Kazanne and Novo.

Team Prospect Pitch – Task 3

The Hotel:
We have taken a lot of time deciding what the best hotel would be for Sir Shu Grrr, We have taken into consideration all His needs, and our decision has been made for him to attend The Connaught Hotel - http://www.the-connaught.co.uk/home/ on Friday 23rd of November.

The Connaught
Carlos Place
Mayfair, London
W1K 2AL
+44 (0)20 7499 7070

He will be staying in a Luxury room called a ‘Superior King room’ for 2 nights. The room Sir Shu Grrr will be staying in is described as ‘A considered and generous space that is perfect for a city getaway in style. Choose either a modern contemporary style with TOTO toilets in their en-suite bathrooms or a classical style with luxurious curtains and traditional features. All rooms feature the latest in modern technology with the best in-room entertainment and flat screen TVs. Twin beds are also available on request’. We feel this Hotel has amazing standards and only the best will do for Sir Shu Grrr. He will also be provided with a luxurious Breakfast each morning And a Bottle of champagne on Saturday night to celebrate his Business success.

There is another very important part of this 5 star Hotel that sealed the deal for us, it has a large range on business facilities and events that set the tone for your business meeting in 5-star luxury at the Connaught. Here is what they say ‘With its central Mayfair location it is the ideal venue to create your perfect corporate event in the city, with a range of elegant spaces available for up to 200 guests’. This Hotel also provides these essential facilities when discussing business, like Networking receptions, meetings, conferences, stages, sound facilities, audio-visual technology, presentation equipment, telephones and complimentary Wi-Fi. We felt that all these facilities will help Sir Shu Grrr promote his business to his clients and is the best hotel for this.

Formal Wear:

We have done a lot of research to find the perfect suit/price combination. We found a website called Burberry, which is a company that produces suits and the accessories needed. We feel that wearing the right suit will give a very good impression to a potential investor. We have found the perfect combination for Sir Shu Grrr comprising trousers, jacket, shirt and tie. Dress shoes to accompany it.

Suit - http://uk.burberry.com/store/menswea...n-wool-blazer/ = £550.00

Shoes - http://uk.burberry.com/store/mens-ac...Query=38295451 = £385.00

Tie - http://uk.burberry.com/store/menswea...iped-silk-tie/ = £125.00

Shirt - http://uk.burberry.com/store/menswea...-cotton-shirt/ = £195.00

Trousers - http://uk.burberry.com/store/menswea...wool-trousers/ = £175.00

Total = £1, 207.60

We find that This Suit is very formal, and will give a very good impression to a future investor. And will potentially increase Sir Shu Grrr’s chances of gaining a new client.

The shoes are sartorial ceremonial shoes in patent leather; they have Lace-up closure and a Cushioned leather insole. The jacket is a Lightweight modern fit virgin wool blazer, the modern fit blazer is closely fitted Interlined with natural horsehair canvas, the jacket shapes to the body and reinforces the sharp cut. The Tie has sartorial woven silk wool in a distinctive diagonal stripe, and is a Classic cut. The Shirt is a Modern fit shirt in crisp and is tailored for a straight fit Point collar and button cuffs. The Trousers are sartorial modern fit flat front trousers in soft virgin wool.

Another night comes another outfit, and we think that we have carried on the style and sophistacition with this match up of Ben Sherman and Burbery formal wear:

Suit - http://www.bensherman.com/tailoring/...ket-38715.html = £195.00

Tie - http://www.bensherman.com/plectrum-silk-tie-39816.html = £30.00

Shoes - http://uk.burberry.com/store/mens-ac...lace-up-shoes/ - £385.00

T-Shirt - http://uk.burberry.com/store/menswea...gingham-shirt/ = £295.00

Trousers - http://uk.burberry.com/store/menswea...wool-trousers/ = £225.00

Fine Dining:
A good meal means everything to business men, and Lord ShuGrr can have confidence that we at Team Prospect have booked him two evenings of the highest calibre for him and his client to enjoy. On the Friday he will spend an evening in The Beach Blanket, London, where him and his partner will have a set menu to enjoy while discussing very serious business topics :pipe:

Best of British Themed Entertainment:
When organising Lord ShuGrr’s business weekend in London, Team Prospect decided that for the entertainment it would be a good idea to have a simple theme. This theme we decided was ‘Best of British’, and with this we booked Lord ShuGrr and his client tickets to the one and only showing of the James Bond 50th Anniversary Orchestral Gala on Friday 23rd November, and also to ‘Let It Be’, the Hit West End show celebrating the music of the highest selling musicians of all time, The Beatles. We feel that these two evenings will be a great opportunity for Lord ShuGrr to impress his client, and hopefully opening up opportunities for the deal.

Saturday Morning Business Golf:
As an extra side, on the Saturday a morning of golf has been booked for Lord ShuGrr and his partner. Team Prospect feel this will be a good opportunity for Lord ShuGrr to try and secure or finalise whatever contract he is after with his client. The golf course is just five miles from the heart of London, set in an idyllic location with great views across the calm landscape, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Central London.

24 Hour Luxury Car Rental:
Well, we know that Lord ShuGrr likes to be seen in style, so we have booked him a swanky Aston DB6 for 24 hours as a personal luxury for him to use on The Saturday, and which will be used to escort him to Dulwich Golf Club in the morning, and Let It Be and Sarasto Restaurant in the evening.

How much?
Team Prospect always keep a careful eye on the prize; and we knew that although we had to provide exceptional amenities for Lord ShuGrr, we had to keep a look out for bargains to keep ourselves within our budget. We feel we have done that well, as this is our total expenditure for the weekend:

The Hotel - £1, 207.60
Outfit for Night One - £1,430
Food and Drink for Night One - £336
Entertainment for Night One - £75.50
Aston Martin DB6 - £549.00
Outfit for Night Two – £1130
Food and Drink for Night Two -£126.45
Entertainment for Night Two - £80
Golf - £80
TOTAL - £5014.55
OUR BUDGET - £5200.00

Message from Team Prospect
We hope that Lord ShuGrr chooses Team Prospect's weekend as we feel that we have provided ample oppurtunities for securing contracts, superb amenities and also personal luxuries chosen with him in mind, and also managing to stay under budget, despite the quality and quantity of our Weekend.

the winning pitch :worship:

Prospect: I did tell you originally that I found a couple of small errors in your pitch and whilst you were the successful team again, one of them might just come back to haunt you. From what I can tell, DrunkerThanMoses was responsible for the costing of the meal where only 1 head was paid for, so I thought I should just warn you to check all figures in future :D

Kazanne. For all three tasks you haven't posted too often but in this task I was pleased to see a more concerted effort from you. You contributed a fair number of links to the team and many creative ideas - some of which were the ones I enjoyed most (the Bond car hire). However, I am a little worried that this may have been too little too late, because you've been in this position already and didn't contribute a huge amount in task #2. I am going to save you this time purely for your improvements on the earlier tasks.

Novo, you put a huge effort into the first task and I'm not really sure what's happened since. I don't know if it's because that task didn't result in a firing, or something else, but you seem to have lost all motivation and posted only once in this most recent task. You didn't post a lot in the second one either. I found this decision difficult on account of your first effort, but I cannot fire kazanne for her efforts in this one, it wouldn't be fair. With regret, you're fired

http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/2...t201211093.png

-------------------------

Pioneer: As the losing team for the second task in a row, I understand you may be frustrated at the moment. I can only say that you've got some really strong rivals and their effort has been pretty dazzling so far, but I believe you have the creativity and the ingenuity to perform better. Just take the game a little more seriously :nono: because I'd feel awful telling another team they've lost because they didn't make me laugh.

Flamingjoe, I did warn you last time that I wanted to see a little more from you, and for you to come up with something original and interesting all by yourself. Unfortunately, you posted three times. For that reason, you're fired.

http://imageshack.us/a/img818/9359/s...t201211092.png

Salman!, you were rather lucky to be brought in against Joe, really, because I wasn't really blown away by your efforts either. You have a very strong team and I understand that performing against them and trying to stand out must be difficult, but don't let that stop you. Post a little more often and take an executive stance here or there, and you could be back in the game.

Marcus. 09-11-2012 04:17 PM

Flamingjoe and Novo sorry guy/girls but well done getting this far

Maia 09-11-2012 04:20 PM
