It's time...to face...my feedback...

I want to start with Tyler. I'm glad I helped Nicky this week and picked the song King for you as I think it was perfect. It's such a fresh modern up to date sound and with your country style it really sounded great, I say this week after week now but that was your best yet. Im a fan of yours, however with breathless I just didn't connect with that performance it left me feeling a little bit empty, it's like eating a sandwich and just not having mayonnaise or ketchup or anything moist to accompany it it's just plain and I feel at this stage you need something more. So well done on your performance of King but your corrs rendition may leave you in danger

Now Luke, oh Kirk what have you done? Both songs just did not work and after a shambles week last week you needed to deliver something truly special and you didn't and I'm sorry Luke but I think for me it may be your time to go

Little mix both performances were iconic. Just absolutely worthy of winning. Your such strong competition for my girls but I just love you. Black magic for me was the performance of the series, bye bye bye wasn't quite as good but it still worked for me. You girls have it all and it wouldn't surprise me if you end up winning

Reggie n Bollie, both performances were really really good, but I just feel we may have seen everything we are going to see from you guys, I don't think you can go up a level like I feel all the other acts can, although it was a strong week for you it will probably take a lot of effort from your fanbase to see you through Unfortunately!

As for my girls well done girls you all delivered what I needed you to. Janet I'm still hesitant on your song choices but you still owned them or maybe wasn't your finest week but I'm still happy and I am aiming you to reach that final. Amelia both performances showed how sassy you are and you have that rock pop sound that is needed in the charts your a star and I think you will be around for a long time. Alexandra that may have been your best week yet I think I got both songs spot on to show your different strengths and if your not in that final I'll be very suprised

For all the group and duets they were all amazing. Your a great bunch of people and I hope you all get everything you dream of

Here's my feedback:

1 - Amelia Lily:

Song 1: I enjoyed this and in my opinion, Amelia could sing the first 50 pages of a Phone Directory and still get people listening and enjoying her performance.

Song2: Amelia's flawless interpretation of this song perfectly corroborates my comments above. Brilliant.

2 -Reggie N Bollie

Song1: This immensely likeable and fun pair are never going to be in the same league as some of the power-house performers in this contest, but - again - they are never dull and are always commercial and professional. I enjoyed this.

Song 2: A.J. took a risk with this song choice but the 'Fun Boy Two' pulled it off - another enjoyable performance.

3 - Luke Friend

Song1: I completely disagree with Nicky's verdict about both the song choice and Luke's interpretation.

The song is a classic which - like all really great music - is timeless. It is just as vibrant and commercially 'catchy' now as it was when it was released in the '80's, and though it was 'not' Luke's 'type of music' he hammered it in my opinion.

(I had to change the lyrics from "kissing Valentino" to "Kissing Marilyn Monroe" to avoid trolls casting aspersions about Luke's sexuality  but it worked).

Song2: I understand why Nicky might feel that this song is 'cheesy' but 'one man's cheese' is another man's sentimental pleasure and I not only like the song, but thought that it DID suit Luke's voice perfectly.

4 - Alexandra Burke

Song1: What can I say? Alex is a true 'Diva' and like Amelia Lily, she could sing The Phone Book. Another solid, polished, ultra professional performance. BUT, there is a sad but real fact in any field of entertainment - from Singing to Horse Riding, from Boxing to Magic and Illusion - that we EXPECT excellence from its 'Mega Stars', and even when that excellence is ALWAYS delivered, it becomes 'The Norm' and a little 'taken for granted'.

So as unfair as it may be, one more 'flawless performance' from Diva's such as Alex and Amelia, CAN sometimes have less of an impact than a solitary or unexpected 'Stand Out' improved performance from 'Lesser Acts' such as Luke or Tyler.

Song2: Another great performance.

5 - Tyler Hudson

Song1: A good, but not great performance from Tyler, but I did enjoy his interpretation of this.

Song2: Again - good but not 'WOW', but still thoroughbly enjoyable.

6 - Little Mix

Song 1: Did not quite come off for me.

Song2: Much better than Song 1. I loved this version, and as polished as they now are, the girls are still pefecting their craft and improving with every performance.

7 - Janet Devlin

I agree that this is a GREAT song choice and Janet gave it 100%. I loved this performance.

Song 2: I may be one of the few who does not really like this song, so as good as Janet's interpretation was, I did not enjoy it as much as I know I should have.

This is getting ever more difficult to judge as the weeks go by because of the high quality of the remaining acts.

We can't vote for our own acts. But I loved reading your feedback!

Currently it's set to be Reggie n Bollie in the bottom as they haven't received a single vote yet

Tyler is on 2 votes

Luke and Janet are tied on 4 votes

Alexandra is on 5 votes

Amelia and little mix tie at the top with 8 votes!

well thank you for this feedback, and with Tyler i wanted to show his performing skills with Breathless, that he can just perform it

i really hope he's not leaving us yet, as i want to show his own song for next week

and Jake, you can be proud of your girls, sorry i didn't vote for Amelia because i already thought she would get enough votes, so i voted for Janet, Alexandra and Little Mix just to make sure they get votes as well

next series i'll be mentoring the overs as well, i think i might have a few surprises in my category

and you'll be mentoring the groups, i hope Amy will join next series to mentor the girls, and maybe i can convince ProfessorSmooth to come back to mentor the boys :)

Nicky91 20-03-2016 01:48 PM

wow Reggie N Bollie, on 0 votes, well maybe the wow factor isn't with them anymore

my ranking for this week:

1. Alexandra Burke

2. Janet Devlin

3. Little Mix

4. Tyler Hudson

5. Amelia Lily

6. Reggie N Bollie

7. Luke Friend

well Kirk, we're in the same situation both with 1 act, and i don't want Tyler to leave, next week he can show his Original song if he gets the chance.

and i'm sorry for the criticism on Luke, he's a good singer, you just need to have some more wow songs for him

and Boyzone's no matter what is one of my favourite songs from them :)

Strictly Jake 20-03-2016 02:29 PM

By the way Nicky the acts next week are singing more than one original song, I was hoping they are singing three? Just because that way it shows the artists off a lot more with it being such an important week to get through. I know you said about memorable year as the other theme but I have no idea how that would work?

Strictly Jake 20-03-2016 02:42 PM

Want to say a huge Thankyou to everyone that has voted for my girls! Just to ask what song was everyone's favourite for them?

No problem Nicky - we are here to judge and criticise.

I think the main reason for our differing opinion is the huge gap in age, but I am more likely to be correct :hee: because if we were named after drinks - you would be Baby Sham and I would be older Bud Wiser.:laugh::laugh:
