the elephant in the room is that this is likely to be the tip of the iceberg. How many other stars/execs are bollock deep in this. They intentionally covered up the original complaint from the mother. The DG's explanation that the process was working because the case wasn't closed is complete bollocks. They shut up shop on it. I also don't believe that Huw first heard about it last week. That is pretty far fetched to say the least

I actually think what Schofield done was worse, meeting the lad at such a young age, getting him a job, then shagging him as soon as he turned 16.

Huw seems like a pervy creep, but photos is completely different to a physical sexual relationship with an actual child. Legal or not.

Firstly, you're speculating.

Secondly, its the wrong thing to focus on. Why is he not upset at what the allegations are doing to his family.

Two people have used the word 'angry' and, for me, he's got no one to be angry with than himself. The only thing he can be angry about is that its come out.

And you’re working on the assumption that he’s automatically guilty of everything he’s been ‘accused’ of

Why is the wrong thing to focus on? He’s been wrongly accused of committing sex offences, he has every right to be angry, any person would be in that scenario

if you are sexting 18 year olds and sending them ££ and showing your naked arse on social media you tend to attract that type of speculation when you are in your sixties

if you are angry about that you need to give your head a wobble

It's possible he will get another gig not reading the news, but he will never be centre stage as the face of the bbc again

Had a horrible thought. Huw and Schofield hosting a podcast together.

LT's response is perfect.

Just to add. We have not heard any other emotion than 'angry' and two people have used the word. I'm gonna assume he genuinely is angry. If so, then Huw Edwards is a word I cant use on this platform but its got 4 letters, there's a 'C', a 'U' and a 'T' but the word in not 'Cute'. Let me repeat if he is genuinely angry then no other word is strong enough.

I dont agree either, they say there is alot of empathy for Huw....why I ask???? I think they are trying to drive the narrative, same as Sopel

I find it truly bizarre that it’s seen as unusual or reprehensible that a man wrongly accused of sex crimes against someone underage is angry at the accusations, it’s mind blowing that someone is being held to that standard :joker:

When its the only emotion we're hearing about then its very unusual. Two people have said it. No one has said he's hurt or disgusted by the allegations. All we're hearing about is his anger. I'm stunned you don't find it odd.

I agree with you. The sentiment for Edwards is being driven by his colleagues. If he's allowed to return I hope many people start tuning out
