Albums I've bought in physical copy this year:
Born This Way
Eliza Doolittle

Albums I've Downloaded for free this year:
Over 30 easily.

(Only bought Eliza cos it was too good to not have in CD quality and couldn't find any decent quality download links)

Read the thread title. It clearly states appreciation thread. And you can't exactly judge an album based on two singles. -.-

These 2 singles are pushed out there to promote the album though.

They are not good songs. Very unoriginal and not a patch on her debut material which was anthemic.

Jords 07-06-2011 10:36 PM

Judas is a brilliant pop song imo

Smithy 07-06-2011 10:37 PM

2 singles are pushed out there to promote an album, between them they've sold 700,000 copies and the album was the fastest selling album of the year so far. I dun see your point

My point is the material is only selling coz she has a die hard fan base now

Would you have bought "Born this way" if it was released by Samantha Mumba?.

Jords 07-06-2011 10:38 PM

Who?

If her music sells who cares whose buying it :laugh2:

Doogle 07-06-2011 10:43 PM

Of all the people you could've used for that.

Doogle 07-06-2011 10:45 PM

People will buy music by an artist they like, more to support them than because they want it if the song is ****.

At least she has diehard fans to buy her music, unlike "Samantha Mumba"

You haven't even listened to the whole album, Jesus. If you heard the album and are a fan of her earlier work then you'd love tracks like Americano, Government Hooker, The Edge of Glory and Scheisse.

Go and listen to the album, then argue with me about it because judging it from two singles (which are the weakest songs imo) is absurd.

I dont know who she is, thats why people wouldnt buy her music, d'oh!

Beastie 07-06-2011 10:51 PM

Samantha Mumba

She could appear in the next CBB!

daniel-lewis-1985 07-06-2011 10:53 PM

Are you guys dumb?

The point i was making is that the 2 singles she released are so bland that if any new artist had bounced on the scene with these songs as their debuts to promote their album they would have a flop on their hands.

Im judging her on her music so wont buy just anything she churns out

And ive listened to the album on Youtube And was really dissapointed.

Edge of Glory however is amazing

I can't even. My God.

Smithy 07-06-2011 10:57 PM

We're dumb because we have a different opinion? right....

And you're whole argument is invalid, if it was only her hardcore fanbase buying the music, surely it'd peak in it's first week then just continue to decline, which neither song has done, both rose after videos/tv performances, and no doubt they'll both rerise after her performances on Paul O Grady next week

How is that fair?
At least she has diehard fans to buy her music, unlike "Samantha Mumba"

Why the **** would you buy a song you think is **** just to support the artist? If she's prodicing rubbish then why bother "supporting her"!? It's not like she needs it to produce her next album! She's probably nearly a billionaire.

Well I was listening to Shane Ward's Breathless album and I was going to rip and scrobble another album (Jedward's ) and I was eating my tea and didn't want to get up so I put my music on shuffle . I do like Geri and Cher lots though.
