Tina didn't present herself as a schemer but it was all a facade -- remember, this is directly after Richard Hatch wins Borneo and is hated by America for ruining the integrity of Survivor. Australian Outback had a whole level of metagame because after seeing Hatch break the system, you knew that that's what you had to do to win, but you also knew that you couldn't present it as such since Hatch was a despised pop culture figure at the time. Tina didn't want you to think that she voted out Mitchell because she caused a power switch literally on the hike to Tribal Council, she did it because he was weak (her TC voting confessional blows that image up -- in the spirit of the Olympics, let the games begin!) She didn't want you to think she took out Jerri because it was the best option for her strategically, it was because Jerri was mean. She was forced to run the game without giving off the appearance that she cares about The Game, but she did it stunningly.

All of this is why Tina is one of my favourite winners :love:

Yeah, I usually don't bother with the live reunion. The one for Kaoh Rong (the only one I've seen live) was atrocious and that turned me off the idea as a whole.

I've now finished Nicaragua and might start Redemption Island in a little bit. I've already seen people comment on here a few times that this season is awful. Let's see I guess.

I certainly liked her, but she was much more meh than I expected. I thought she was meant to be Australia's villain, and she wasn't like that at all IMO.

That's so gross. Hopefully it's executed better in future, but it just seems not right not having the winner crowned where the series took place

It's much harder for spoilers to leak when the votes are read in a studio in LA six months later, than if they're read six months before in a Nicaraguan jungle and half the cast + all the crew know the result

It could be edited quite easily, but actually, on second thoughts, the fake reactions on TA are pretty bad

I was glad Diane went tbh, she just wasn't cut out for it, and I felt a bit sorry for Clarence tbh.

Oh I realise who Lindsey is now, she's one of my favourites.

That cow blood drinking scenes is probably one of the most vile things I've seen on TV

Russell going so soon & losing the R.I. battle SMH... I like most of Rob's tribe (including Rob himself who's GREAT this time and I find Phillip hilarious this time :joker:) but I hate most of Russell's tribe. Stephanie & Krista tho :love:

In other news, my Micronesia re-watch will resume shortly, which is nice because I'm getting to the good/-er bit

Poor Linda/Tess from Casualty <\3 She was a crazy lady!

It was a scream when Lindsey rejected her hug and Linda said 'did your momma not hug you as a child' and Lindsey then began crying :joker:

It's also surprising to know Judy Murray's first media experience was on Survivor: Africa.
