The show is worse. Objectively worse. It is an interactive show and hardly anybody is impressed by it save for a few people here who will continue to shine **** and call it gold.

No, I will continue to be critical of it. You should grow up yourself and learn how to engage in debate.

The only thing they really responded with BB14 was live feed and the cast. No one asked for themes and more twists... Although I do agree it was a step in the right direction and it's pretty bizarre they scrapped the start of something great with BB14 and we ended up with the mess that was BB15 and this series (although I'm enjoying this series more than last years).

I do agree with most of your views, the show is worse and this series is a mess in all truth. Although constantly saying the same thing over and over and over again is not going to save the show, it's not going to make the producers think 'oh, lets improve the show following Beetlejuice on TiBB' and its not going to make Big Brother become the big great show it once was. Times have changed, Big Brother is a dying brand and people on forums don't want to read a member saying the same thing on every thread with nothing new to add.

I know how to engage in debates thank you. Although, without being rude, your constant jibes at any member who says an opinion opposite to yours is getting tedious, and even childish to read. Maybe you should learn that people can praise the show and it doesn't make them right or wrong.

Truth is bbuk needs a rest

Why doesn't everyone put Beetlejuice on ignore if they are so sick of his rants?

Noone has to listen to him.....Out of sight out of mind.

Anyway last nights rating sucked let be fair Sundays are BB's highest rated and for it to be below 1 million without +1 is crap.

I cant see it staying on Channel 5 tbh I think they will move it to MTV or some other channel next series.

Wow Love Island did awful in the ratings. I'm quite surprised.

I wasn't expecting it to rate amazingly well, but surely above 600k at least. I mean there was a lot of hype for it, and it was trending on Twitter, from 9 til half 10.

I guess it was because it was up against Big Brother, so many +1ed LI.
Also, many people I know saw the first two minutes of LI, and puked.

RichardG 08-06-2015 06:39 PM

Were people expecting a lot from this Love Island then? I've never heard of it until now.

Rob! 08-06-2015 06:45 PM

I don't see why anybody would expect anything from it. It didn't do that well when it was first on.

Jamesy 08-06-2015 07:02 PM

Was LI even worth watching? I didn't hear anything that great about it so don't feel too bothered watching it

billy123 08-06-2015 08:34 PM

Never heard of Love island the fact it is in the sae league as BB speaks volumes about how bad things have become.

Jake. 09-06-2015 09:23 AM

ITV2's Love Island remained steady at 9pm, pulling 0.42m (2.0%) for its second instalment - sending E4's Made in Chelsea crashing to a series low 0.37m (1.8%).

Big Brother averaged 1.05m (6.7%) at 10pm for Channel 5.

Will. 09-06-2015 09:29 AM

Decent, so over 1.1 with +1, very high share

BB14 got 1.35 without plus one with a 6.2% share

JohnnyBB 09-06-2015 10:19 AM

Hopefully this weekends twist could bring back some old time veiwers, hope it dosent back fire though too many veiwers thinking about old times.

It's had a rest for 5 years. It needs to come back.

The be all and end all of Big Brother.

Yes they have. But there was no need for the show to. Or if it did need to change it needed to retain what was essential to it, and build something new on top of that. Instead, they urinated all over the format of the show.

Actually it's still doing well in other parts of the world. Where they have the live coverage. The fact is, Channel 5 could have breathed some new life into it had they given the fans of the show what they asked for. Unfortunately they have ruined it. And that is the reason it is in the state it is now in. It probably is beyond repair, but seeing as they have another 2 years of it, I think it's still worth stating why.

Sorry, I don't believe in "everyone's opinion is as valid as another person's". Some things are objectively bad and there's no way of getting around it. And the only way to confront it is to admit it. The apologists for this show, as it is done here in the UK, are just helping the people responsible for it not have to confront the truth. You will only cause every other series of BB to be even worse.

Yes it has. What you have been watching for 5 years is a Frankenstein's Monster version of Big Brother.

Once they do that, it will be done for good. And CBB will soon go with it. Same thing happened with Fame Academy.

BB looks great compared with those flops

Rob! 09-06-2015 01:27 PM

Is that with or without plus 1?

Kai Anders 09-06-2015 01:53 PM

I'm at least pleased these ratings are consistent, and hopefully with high-ish shares for the channel (6-7% compared to C5s usual 3-4%) it should bring in advertisers who see the channel share rise over the summer months, as oppose to actual viewership, making the show somewhat profitable despite the low viewing figures for this year. I wonder how the small break between this and CBB will affect viewership. Summer CBB tends to get about 8% shares while Winter is stronger with 10%, I get 6-8-10% isn't something to bad considering what other programmes on the channel tend to get.

Also wondering, if C5 were to, do you think they could feasibly move BB to one of their sister channels like MTV, 5* etc. or would they just call it quits completely? Noticed AHS has been picked up by 5* which should produce some fine ratings!

*mazedsalv** 09-06-2015 02:38 PM

1.09m incl +1

It's consistent, of course its still low, but still higher than it was before the newbies. Also to note that BB came 2nd in the slot just behind the BBC News. It beat ITV news.

So however low the ratings look, its beating ITV, BBC2 and C4 so C5 won't be worried.

Beetlejuice 09-06-2015 02:40 PM

Here's some positivity for you... The ratings are high enough that they probably won't axe it. But low enough that they might seriously consider some of the changes fans are telling them they need to make. Which is quite a healthy place for it to be in from a fans point of view. But I thought this last year.

It did.
It often beat BB6, in ratings. And the final of the first series was watched by 5.9m.

The 2nd series in 2006 did worse, but it still got decent ratings around 3/4m. However, it was not strong enough to beat BB7 in ratings.

I think TV has changed a lot in ten years, especially with the rise of other shows such as TOWIE, MIC, and GS, which has put people off many other reality shows.

Beetlejuice 09-06-2015 02:53 PM

I think ITV were hoping it would do as well as I'm A Celeb when they came up with it.

I have to say that Brendan Cole smacking that little irritant from Hollyoaks was a great moment.
