For me it's a pity it can't be shared.
The judges voting tonight is a lot of help, ha ha. Just incredible effort and content in all dances from both pairings. I'd love John to win but I predict Rose will. This was maybe the best ever Strictly final. Imagine had A.J. been performing too. Congratulations and thanks to both these couples tonight, amazing show. |
Nervous for Rose

I still say little to no doubt it will be Rose.

So glad Rose won

Congratulations to Rose and Giovanni.
Congratulations too to John and Johannes the runners up this series. Absolutely superb final. |
It is about time Giovanni won tbf

Congrats to him and Rose. |
Perfect result.
I loved John and Johannes from the start, but Rose and Giovanni had me in tears tonight, so moving. |
Im so happy! Woooooooo :dance::cheer2:

I have supported them from week 1. I stand by what I've said about them being my favourite ever couple. Me and my whole family voted for them like crazy tonight. I absolutely loved her dances. Cried at every one of them!!!! So so happy

To show the apprentice and the green planet trailers at the end was genius too. Absolutely buzzing to see both of them

I'll try to be polite about the dances as best I can.
Round 1: 1. John & Johannes - For a Rumba not bad. 2. Rose & Giovanni - This is probably my worst Rose dance, I hated it at the time and I hated it last night. Round 2: 1. John & Johannes - John's Paso is my favourite dance of the series personally, so I was very happy to see it again, and possibly be improved from the first time that he did it. 2. Rose & Giovanni - It's better than her first dance. Round 3: 1. John & Johannes - He actually did a Showdance. 2. Rose & Giovanni - It was less of a Showdance and more of an encore to her Couple's Choice imo. Personally I think that this was the worst Strictly season that I've ever watched, and tbh it quite possibly might be one of the worst Reality TV Show seasons that I've ever watched. I'm not just picking on Rose before anyone says anything as I pulled up The Cookout on BBUSA's most recent season too for the same reason (Ashley on here can testify to this) is that there was no competition on either Show this year as it was fairly obvious which contestants would win both Shows, and it weren't because they were the best competitor in their respective series or because they were even that entertaining to watch, imo it was all just to tick societal boxes which is not what these Shows are supposed to be about imo, but they're going that way. I honestly have no issue with POC or people with disabilities winning Reality TV Shows, what I do resent is this massive agenda that the production have of forcing Xavier (who was possibly the most unlikable Cookout member) and Rose to win their years that they end up treating them with kiddie gloves. And a portion of the public treating you like you're unlikable if you didn't want Rose to win (just see DS where Rose fans were telling John fans off) or a racist for not wanting the competition to start at the top 6 in BBUSA's case (I'd preferred an all-black lineup tbh as it would've been competitive) something that was lacking in BBUSA over the last couple of seasons. For me on this year's Strictly I would've liked John, Rhys or AJ to win the series, but let's face it a lot of people were treating it more like a morality contest rather than as an entertainment show imo. Hopefully the Show learns a lot from MasterChef: The Professionals final where they were all good cooks, and they made it hard to predict who was gonna win, because I certainly got it wrong. Having ranted a lot, I think that Rose is a nice girl who has hopefully inspired other deaf people into trying out things such as dancing among many other hobbies. However do I think that she deserves to win and get away with doing samey routines most weeks? No I don't. I know that I'm gonna offend a lot of the Forum with this post, but **** it I'm used to being annoying so why not add another moment to the roster?:joker: |

I'm genuinely happy that you and other people got something out of it. |

I thought both John and Rose were fantastic last night.
But I loved her showdance more. It was absolutely beautiful! |
Motsi was expecting John to win. Her face when Rose was announced the winner was a picture

She was never the best dancer, (AJ was) but my goodness what a joy she was to watch.
My Saturdays just ain't gonna be the same now. |
very deserving winner
but overall what a great enjoyable final  eliminated group dance so much fun either :clap1: Greg with that beard looks good on him somehow nice to see Judi's twerk again  Dan's lobster dance was better than the first time around #TeamWalkova slaying yet again :clap2: Ugo with his wig :worship: definitely the most fun last celeb for Oti on the show  Nina even danced very well, still kinda shocked how she was a first boot but that shows how strong this series was Rose's showdance had more of an impact than John's showdance, but John's was more fun entertaining this is Johannes last final i think, since he hasn't got this connection with female celebs, although i'd like to see him with a comedian lady, i think Dawn French would be perfect for him personality wise, with her great humour and i think in turn Johannes is someone she needs to overcome her nerves and fears for doing this show finally Gio got his glitterball, justice for Faye Tozer, Georgia May Foote, Debbeh McGee is served  :cheer2: as for a older lady duffer next year, well make it a fun one pls production, i wanna see Gio with what his comedy routines would look like Theresa May is available LOL :fan: |

Plus, it's been clear to you and I since between weeks 4 to 7. There was only going to be one certain winner this series immaterial what the other contestants did. The public got behind that and Rose quickly. I just relaxed and felt I was at 2 different shows although I was voting for John, as was my Mum. My cousin for Rose. I did think of your comment weeks back re like Disney routines re Rose.. During the final. John and Johannes had 2 of the hardest dances to do again in the final. In my view. However I knew they couldn't win. Neither would AJ have had she been there. I've said for weeks, much like yourself, this series was about supporting acts in the final with Rose.. Not about anyone else winning. So I get most of where you are coming from. I know of people voting only because they admire Rose for being able to dance with her hearing loss. I admire that greatly. However, the dancing should reflect scores and votes. I can concede to you, the dances last night saw one couple doing ' safer' dances let's say. With the other pair giving very powerful performances on 2 of the hardest dances to be done in a final. I think for me my Mum last night summed it up. She enjoyed the show. However her last words on it were, that's what it was, a show, it was not in the end a competition as the whole series has been orchestrated as to a one way traffic as to the winner for many weeks now. I do agree mostly with that conclusion. So your stronger view on this series and the final. I don't think you're off the mark. You and I were poles apart on Dan. Yet I could see your point on his entertainment value too. I did enjoy it, in the main as I said because I knew beyond near all doubt, firstly my own choice hadn't a hope of winning, immaterial of how good they may be. Plus, I knew equally beyond near all doubt, the winner was already decided. So I treated it more as a variety type show. To just enjoy and not get too wrapped up in as a dancing competition. Good reading Mock as it always is from you. |

Strictly results have never angered me like this, in fact I normally like to see myself as a more chilled out Strictly viewer. I think for me I'm just breaking at every TV Show nowadays not really following what their supposed to be about, and instead try to be "profound" therefore becoming miserable & boring drecks. So it's not all Strictly's fault for how I feel, but it did harm my opinion of not just the year itself but also of Rose as a "contestant" because she never really felt like a contestant. And creepily by the end it felt like people were treating her more like an Angel than an actual Human Being. I promise to calm it down after this post, it's just a glitterball at the end of the day. |
