Mostly toneless players are hardly characters!

I still think GI was better than HvHvH - the characters that got all the airtime in HvHvH were Ben, Chrissy and Ryan - all three sucked.

This season fell down due to the casting of Laurel - passive players that have no desire to even play the game or try to win do ruin the game and prevent big moves from occuring. The same happened with Redemption Island - another season that sucked due to the passive players with no backbone [It's not Robs fault, nor is it Dom or Wendell's, they all played hard]

I still could not even attempt to sum up Wendell's personality if anyone asked me to describe the latest Survivor winner. Domenick would be a tough one too tbh.

I enjoyed this season waaaaaaay more than the last, it didn't have a detestable winner (that arguably had the game handed to him by production) for starters

I think this'll become a bit of a marmite season in years to come. If you like Dom and/or Wendell then it's decent, if you don't then it's ****e. It was by no means vintage but at least there were people I was actually invested in, the only person I had any opinion of in HvHvH was the person I was actively rooting against! I would genuinely struggle to name more than three other players. The only minor blemish this season has for me is that the iconic ending didn't go the other way

Yeah even though I liked Wendell almost equally as Domenick, I'm still somewhat salty about Dom not getting his rightful win. Wendell played a perfectly good game as well just not as good and not as much flare/entertainment so this season should've been represented by Dom tbh.

I liked Ben, Chrissy and Ryan - characters who people could have an opinion about. This season it was so bland they had to fill up half the season with sob stories to try and get the audience interested, that was the reason Donathan got that money on the reunion really. In the future people will be saying Wendell who?? And you could say that for others, Domenick seemed to want to compare himself to Tony, but he had none of his charisma.

Eh, with all the exit interviews and post-show press it sounds like Domenick kinda shot his load early and either didn't have strong relationships with some of the endgamers or he soured them with antics like nearly bullying Donathan to tears during the Sebastian boot TC and egging him on like "since you're such a huge fan of the show I'll let you choose which idol I play tonight," which like, wow, someone being so caught up with making good TV that they end up losing jury votes in the process? This is what modern Survivor has come to.

I think it's interesting (as interesting as something in Ghost Island can be, mind you), that the jury was split evenly, with the first five jurors all voting for Dom to win and the last five and Laurel all voting for Wendell to win. The people who saw most of the game from afar voted for the person who showboated and grandstanded and made BIG MOVES while the people who actually saw most of the game with their own eyes voted for the person whose game was more nuanced with strong social bonds. Can't wait for Survivor 42 where everyone makes the Jury and Jeff finally gets his big moves winners that he so desperately wants!
