This is a common avoidance trait amongst people with 'issues' when those same issues are 'outed'.
You admit yourself that you identify with Marcus? If i got that right then why not the 'issues' you have?
You should read R. D. Laing's - The Divided Self. and also Sanity, Madness and the Family. It may help you.
Of course Laing's gig re the family(and perhaps by extension wider society)being the deciding factor re mental health is largely out of favour these days. But it might be a good starting point for you.
There is also the vibe that you might be some kind of feminist, but of the outdated 1st/2nd wave type. That is so pre 1990 and largely superceded by smarter go-getter type feminists. Have a look at some of the third wave feminist stuf out there both as related to serious academic thought and in popular culture.

Oh there is a much simpler reason for my disapproval of Marcus:
I strongly disapprove of sneaky behavior, lying, gossiping, cowardice and bad humour.
Easy.

yet you support lisa
|
That is correct.
Even if Lisa was close to the liar, hypocrite, passive-aggressive little Don't try to get past the swear filter that Marcus is,
even if,
It is better to call one wrongdoer (Marcus) and we can work on the others later.
But Marcus is up now and is by far the worst offender with few redeeming qualities.
Lisa is straight-forward, honest, gruff sometimes but redeems herself with everyone.
She is good people.
Marcus is a sneaky little a-hole full of contempt. That is all the reason needed to dislike him.
