Nobody looks down on Derek because of his class, and if they do they are maybe just jealous, I don't know. You could say they have a problem with him because he's black, he's homosexual, he's a member of the Tory party. You could say anything about him. And yet you look down on Science!

Science does NOT represent the youth of today. I am the youth of today, and lemme tell you, rhyming a lot and arguing isn't the half of it!

Has he vandalised anything like Kitten did in BB5? No.

Has he started swearing? Yes, but so has every other housemate bar maybe Eugene.

Has he been a nuisance? Yes, but only to those who find him annoying. He hasn't "loitered", unless you count Craig's rather funny-for-the-wrong-reasons comment the other night.

So maybe he's similar, but he's NOT the representation of the youth of today, he's a young lad who has dreams and aspirations, who is what he is because of his society, which maybe you don't realise, isn't his fault!

Big Brother is draining and exhausting to watch. I dreamt about it last night. I dreamt that Science punched Anthony in the face and was evicted from the Big Brother House!

Hi, I am upper class. I live in a mansion in Harrogate, Leeds. I have 100 acres, 10 horses, a barn and 8 cars.

I enjoy fox hunting, snobbery, and looking down my nose at the lower class. I hate common people and want to shoot Tony Blair.

I am very right wing and worship the ground Baroness Thatcher walks on. Although I am not that way inclined, I'd gladly take Dennis's place (God rest his soul) and become her new "companion"

Stupid people annoy me and I don't understand what a "Chav" is and hope never to find out.

I love myself and all my snobby friends and I don't care if I have a double barrel name or that my children are called Tinkerbell and Rupert.

I'm not sure what Butlins or Lanzarote is, but I love holiday's in Africa and our villa in the south of France.

I never give money to the poor as they should get off their council housed, benefit frauding backsides to earn their keep.

I read thru all those posts, the majority of which seem to have given AndyJK exactly what he wanted; a heated angry response which he can provoke further. But IMO only Banarama has hit the point spot on, Derek isn't really upper class. He's an upstart middle class, middle england wannabe who THINKS he's upper class cos he talks posh and others buy into his self delusion!! (I should note I didn't agree with much else that Banarama said though).

Personally, I don't care about his politics, hobbies, homelife or whatever. I could look back over all the previous BB's and pick my faves, but I'd have no idea what their flippin views on fox hunting were, and what the hell does it matter. Maybe Helen from BB2 (one of my all time favs) favoured a protectionist economic policy and strict immigration control! I don't know or care. My faves in the house are generally picked on those I genuinely like as people (none this year, maybe Eugene) or those that play the game well and screw with other housemates.

And IMO, whatever fecking class he is, Derek is still the best gameplayer in the house, and he's my fave as a result. He's being nasty and manipulating people and turning them against each other. He's easily picked out Science's main weakness (short temper followed by incomprehensible ranting) and so he plays on it. He gets others to provoke him, and for the main Science walks right into it everytime. Derek offered him advice and an ally at the start but when Science screwed him by revealing his secret little comments, he put himself firmly in Derek's sights. If he goes this week it's gotta be down to some degree to Derek but also BB's biased editing.

Im sure most members agree with my opinions on Science.

It was a test to see how members would react as anti-toff comments had gone completely unnoticed. I think I riled a few people up. I didnt start talking about class, politics or Margaret Thatcher, Im just responding to these points which have been raised recently and over the course of the series.

I really resent that comment Andy - I am a "northerner" and feel that you are really beginning to over step the mark. You have no right to differentiate between people because of where they live in the country. We are all of equal status and all have equal rights - especially on this forum and the key to everyone's rights on this forum is that it is an expectation that all members will treat others with respect. You obviously struggle to respect others Andy :mad:

When Im at work on the phone to my work collegues oop north in Warwick, theyre always taking the mikey out of my accent. I get replies like "alwight aaahs it gaanin me ole mate" Talk about stereotyping me as a character in East-bleeding-enders! (which I hate, by the way) I dont even talk like a cockney. I just laugh if off and ask them about their cloth caps and whippets. :joker:

I totally agree. Ive always learned not to take myself seriously. Theres far more important things to worry about than getting riled up over a few friendly jibes over the internet, for goodness sake.

When I used to holiday in Corfu in the mid 1990s there was always a large contingent of people from the north notably from places like Sheffield, Birmingham and Manchester. Me and my mates (all southerners) used to meet up and play them at pool in the bars. I used to say to them theyre only here because of the cheap flights tickets! Then they used to say how lightweight we are at drinking (which we were). Then we'd wind each other up over the football. It was all friendly banter and there certainly wasnt a whiff of nastiness.

But the fact remains there is a divide between north and south as clearly evident at the general election. Its been like that for centuries.

Oh okay one last post. I think calling people dole scrounging scum and peasants is rude. I knew you'd claim victory - you sound like the sort of person who refuses to believe you could ever be wrong about anything. I don't think you were the victor at all, but I've spent far too much time trying to reason with the unreasonable.

I never used the word 'scum' and the words I did use werent meant maliciously. I was merely trying (as I keep explaining) to make a point which was that fans of the show, not just on this board, have been descriminating against Derek because of his class, posh voice and thats hes supporter of the Conservative party. Its been mentioned on BBLB, BB's Big Mouth, in text messages on TV and on fan websites such as this and gone completely unnoticed. I just think thats unfair to dislike someone because of this and that is why Derek will not win BB.

And I did stress after I dont think people in the north are dole scroungers or anything like that. Im sorry if this offended anyone. I like the north of the country and people from all parts of the British isles.

I bet you're a Chelsea fan. Or if not a football fan, you love watching a good old game of Rugga (union of course) eh? Or are you more in to Horse Racing and the Yacht club scene? How about a game of Croquet or Polo? Rah rah rah. I bet you also watched the Oxford v Cambridge boat race. Your eyes glued to the TV or swigging your Champers down by Chiswick bridge.

And all the housemates have good qualities, but you have to look hard for Science's. Dont get me wrong, hes an entertaining housemate, but he has an appalling attitude and very little respect for other people.

you don't have to look hard at all. with him you get entertainment and good qualities, i cant find much entertainment from others.
