Bigoted dinosaurs like this old woman will be extinct in a couple of generations, hopefully. She was there deliberately to provoke a reaction, and when she got a reaction she decided she didn’t like it.

Assuming her story is as innocent as it sounds (which I doubt), the most they should have done was caution her for wasting police time.
