Lol... What gives you the impression that I am in to the likes of S Club 7 and Westlife? FYI I have seen her stripping off.

What do you mean it's a dangerous world out there?

I'm just joking around. But yeah, that's rock and if you have to accept that while they're on stage anything can happen.

Is it rock anymore though, it would have been years ago, but now when they are often recorded and sold as dvds or pirated, they are putting on a show, its more about the show than rock now.

Yep, it's art apparently and who am I to argue with them for being creative? If I don't like it I don't have to attend, but I still don't think it means that she's a freak. In that case you might as well throw the majority of musical artists in here.

Fair do's... But I still stand by my original point: I don't really want to see body bits flying about when I go to a gig.. If I wanted to see that I would go to a strip joint.

Kenny Rogers rocks by the way!! :amazed:

Never gotten into him to tell you the truth... bit too twee although I do like the odd bit of Kris Kristofferson on occassion. Emmylou as well and the Byrds/Gram Parsons.

Yes indeed and why not? Aren't most of them?

Amy Winehouse, Marilyn Manson, Ben Weasel, Miley Cyrus, David Bowie, Freddy Mercury, Britney Spears, Axel Rose,

They are all kinda freaks.

You seem to think that freak is a negative word - why is that? Many people have called me a freak in my life, I take it as a compliment. Should we all conform?

That's true, but I think people have different opinions as to the meaning of the word freak and therein lies the problem for me. The vast majority of people would use it in a different way to you or I - it's form of discrimination based on attitudes that don't conform to the norm, particularly when we're talking about art and self expression.

There's plenty of freaks to highlight in here for their actions in the real world, rather than how they behave for the sake of their art.

But her art is music, not stripping.

I would call a stripper a freak if instead of a lap dance I paid £30 for I got a song.

And do you really think that if she saw 30stone call her a freak she'd care, she would just look at him and think the same, same for me and my stick Mr Hessinghamlyshire.

We are all freaks to someone. If we're lucky, its someone we love.

I doubt she strips all the time and yes, it's part of her art. I suppose that she feels she's breaking down barriers when she's being so provocative. Honestly don't think she should be judged on her art in this fashion...... if you don't want to see it you don't have to pay for a ticket. In my opinion it's the people who dress like their heroes in everyday situations who deserve the freak title.

Oh I suppose I'm talking about the people who feel that by dressing up as people like Marilyn Manson they're being totally unique and individual, when in actual fact they're just conforming in their own way.

We all conform to something, even non-conformists conform together, which is why we are all freaks, and why we think everyone else is a freak. If there were no freaks then we'd all be the same and quite frankly Mr Hessinghamlyshire and I would find that kinda freaky.

Theres over 6 billion of us, noones individual anymore. Even hermits have a union.

We're getting too entrenched in semantics here for our own good. But in any case, if you're arguing along these lines right now why even open a thread like this if we're all so freaky, if only to slag certain people which I have no problem with by the way, as long as it's based on more than just their art.
