Agreed completely. People will join for the cause but will not bother buying the song.

This campaign = laughable.

The guy who's doing it attempted this last year with Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". He clearly has too much time on his hands and feels like getting his 15 seconds of fame by playing the martyr for a pointless cause.

Stu 04-12-2009 11:30 PM

Plenty will still buy the song. Obviously it's daft to think that everyone will.

Even the people joining but not buying, at least they recognize the **** state of affairs we are in.

Gives me some hope for the world.

Ross 04-12-2009 11:30 PM

Never heard of them and I googled the name and they look fug.

We care about the cause, not the guy behind it. I believe it is a pretty worthwhile cause myself.

The fact that concert footage of them isnt allowed to be broadcast from when theyve reformed shows how much power they cammand!

Battle for The X Factor!!!!

Amen. It's a real feel good thing. A great track from a great band, and a worthwhile gesture towards Mr. Cowell and the state of pop music.

It's annoying that some people have nothing better to do but piss down on it.

I don't.

I think it's a pile of shite to be honest. I don't care what gets to #1 at Christmas or any other week. I buy (or steal) the music I like and I don't give a **** what the chart says.

Also, what's the difference between the people who are buying into the whole XF single malarky and the people who are buying into the facebook malarky.. ? You're still essentially followers. I'm not a follower.

Not as annoying as people who claim those who choose to be realistic and factual are 'pissing down on it.'

We don't care either. Me and Iceman are not going to be helping each other tie one another down to train tracks if the X-Factor get's to number one it's the gesture that counts. That and it's pretty tongue in cheek. Seeing Rage in the Xmas charts would be hilarious.

Realistic and factual in what way? What's not realistic or factual about what we are doing? We don't expect Rage to get to number one for christ sake. It's just a bit of fun. And again ... the gesture.

Sorry if I don't personally enjoy one man who is not a performer having total control of the fucking Xmas chart!

Scarlett. 04-12-2009 11:40 PM

Exactly what Stu said, its worth a go, like last years Hallelujah bid, we got it all the way to #2 ;) which is quite an achivement

King Gizzard 04-12-2009 11:41 PM

Don't let the bells end for Christmas no.1!

*searches for a facebook group..*

King Gizzard 04-12-2009 11:42 PM

Count me in! I will happily be a follower when it's a genuine tune and not a fucking karaoke song!

And a Miley Cyrus one at that!

Scarlett. 04-12-2009 11:44 PM

They were before my time, but from the look of Schumacer's reply, I already know their music xD

King Gizzard 04-12-2009 11:45 PM

Why Killing in the name of though? Its one of my least favourite songs by them

Sleep Now in the Fire, Guerilla Radio, Microphone Fiend, much better!

I am guessing it is for the ''fuck you I won't do what you tell me'' lyric.

My personal favorite is Wake Up.

Movements come and movements go
Leaders speak, movements cease
When their heads are flown
'Cause all these punks got bullets in their heads
Departments of police (What?)
The judges (What?) the Feds (The Feds)

Networks at work keepin people calm
You know they went after King
When he spoke out on Vietnam
He turned the power to the Have-Nots
And then came the shot

I know it's not Party In The USA but whatever!
