I know this will sound weird, but someone who has the same taste as me... because I like the music.
Or someone who likes people who write their own stuff... that's good too :D |

Anyone can have a good music taste, in their opinion.
There isn't really a "good music taste", if you listen to a certain type of music because you enjoy it, then that is fine. If you hate another genre then that's fine too. |
Um, well good music taste to me is music I like. I don't really judge anyone on what music they like. I listen to alot of the chart music, that's mt choice but I do enjoy giving other genres a try. It's good to lengthen your knowledge sometimes.
I don't think it's fair for anyone to say someones music taste is wrong or stupid. Each to their own. |
As a collective term a 'good music taste' does not exist. Sure, what you like and listen to is a 'good music taste', and anyone that likes the same thing you'll also see as having a 'good music taste'. But just because you like an artist/genre, it doesn't mean everybody else has to, or else they have a shit taste in music. Music is perceptive, just like many other things.
I'd agree that people should expand their music knowledge and taste, and even though I haven't gone that far musically so far in my life, I've promised myself that I will, because I love music and want to hear new things, eventually. But then again, not everybody is as passionate about music as someone else is. Some people just need to get off their ****ing high horse and accept that their music taste is not the be all and end all of music, and that their music taste is just their opinion and not a fact. If you ask me, music snobbery is worse than not broadening your horizons in the first place. |
A good music taste is a broad music taste, There's no such thing as a bad genre, only bad artists. I've got no time for people who just stick to one genre and such, I'd find it utterly boring.

I am an eclectic music fan. I listen to anything and everything. I won't ignore a certain genre because any of them are very diverse. I think a person should be open minded about music and not dismissive. I like to listen to music of all ages too. You cannot define what is "good taste". It doesn't exist. Everybody has different taste. Enjoy what you listen to and don't get too hung up about it. It's there to enjoy.

as most have said, good taste is varied taste. But to me it's also about being open to all music [i.e Tom limiting himself to chart music, Laura refusing to listen to a GaGa song or Robbie song or w/e] because you NEVER know what will take your fancy and artists [artists that is - not Britney Spears or The Saturdays] change all the time so you shouldn't let silly things get in the way of that.
I feel I have a pretty good balance at the minute. Like, I can very much enjoy pop fluff like Britney, Heidi Montag, Leona, ect. but most importantly I can discern between that and real music that has been produced by a real artist. |

When the music is very well written is good music.
