It says in The Sun Matt could earn 5 million within the next 12 months! :)

I hope he does well and hope he doesn't flop. I hope he breaks the cycle of the flopped male winners. (Bar Shane who is distinctly average)

Beastie 13-12-2010 11:16 PM

I just hope Simon gives Matt a bit of free reign when making the albulm. If Matt wants to write his own songs and play his guitar, Simon should let him!

yeah, that's what he needs to do I think Beasty, use this as a big platform to launch himself as a credible artist who writes his own stuff, that will set him apart from previous winners

Yep, it will of been that one that the person above was referring to.

Cheryl summed it up best:

With tears in her eyes, she turns to Dannii and says, 'Wow'.

I'll be buying Matt's CD tomorrow. Shame that 'Just the way you are' isn't on it. As that was another of Matt's fantastic performances, and one of my favourites.

yeah but give joe mac elderberry a chance is it , he is a good singer , maybe a bit too vibratey but he carnt half knock one out...when he knocked one out with george michael his was clearer and better

He'll flop, votes and people who'll actually go and buy your stuff are two different things and there's nothing that really makes Matt Cardle stand out at the moment, he'll have a pop rock album out or something Script-esque and break even at best.

I get lost in that everytime I hear it,I have to admit it is one of my fave pieces of music now.I cannot believe the emotion felt in that.

I wouldn't worry about it,he'll still be living his dream and having a whale of a time earning loads of dosh, while others are still sucking on lemons and being mean spirited.Good luck to Matt,IF he flops he will at least have tried.

hopefully he'll be allowed do some of his own songs on his album too, I mean I thought that ballad he wrote as a joke about him and Aiden was actually really good so can you imagine what he can do when he's seriously writing a song?

I am going to download his album when he was with his group Severn Summers,he does write his own songs and some of them are good,I wonder if they will reform on the back of Matts success, that would be interesting to see,so many avenues for him, imo.

oh I'd be interested in having a listen to that as well actually. He probably wont be able to reform with them now he's tied into that contract, not for the next year anyway

I don't think he is anything like previous male winners, his one advantage is he a musician,I hope he does really well,he has worked hard,Matt seems to have broke the mold of previous winners, imo he is so different.

MissKittyFantastico 14-12-2010 02:35 PM

If he gets to do his own stuff then he may do alright, some of his band's stuff is actually really good. I do think Rebecca is way more versatile but I love his voice so I hope he sticks around and makes a go of it.
