I don't actually, I post on DS (or more specifically DSBB) far more than I do on here (few hundred posts a week sometimes as an insomniac), especially when the show is on. Except when there's something big to discuss such as the new C5 rumours, I'm only an occasional visitor here. I read here for the same reason I used to read on DS when I was a member of C4's forums, because I can.

You could have just followed the fair enough rules?

I'm pretty sure it does, maybe not in a separate section or with separate rules (well actually the no negativity rule on DS in regards to appreciation thread is just an expansion of the keep posts relevant to the discussion rule, put downs and criticism in an appreciation thread, a thread intended for appreciative discussion of someone or something, are irrelevant and off topic) but I'm pretty sure I remember there being some during the summer.

Define criticising? DS's rule on housemate criticism is that it must be relevant to the show and based on their behaviour and reaction to events in the house (i.e. not personal.)

A quick search suggests otherwise.

(Separate section = a dedicated sub-forum not a thread)

DS changed the rules, just like BB, when it let pej use the forum as a personal vehicle promote himself but "disallowed" anything but praise for his production "achievements" - IIRC, pej was only ever a "housemate" during the last CBB ..... ;)

The rule while formulated for discussion of bb hms relates to anyone public.

No, it doesn't (or didn't) ..... "you are of course welcome to disagree with other members" *

DS rejected my sign up request anyway. I think its really snooty that they 'require' you to have a ISP e-mail address. I didn't even use a mainstream e-mail I account. I just think that particular rule is so stupid. :bored:

Oooh will I fit in here now being a big Digital Spy'er...

We were just not getting our hopes up over there... incase the answer is still a no which seems like it could be the case these days...

I have a lifetime ban on DS. I did a terrible crime.

I attempted to join DS once when TiBB crashed (on an eviction night of all times!!) but they wanted me to pay cos my email address wasn't good enough or something so I didn't.

EVERYONE has an ISP e-mail address. Most ISPs provide you with 10.

Yeah but why should I have to go out of my way to phone up Virgin Media for a poxy e-mail address? Why isn't Hotmail or Gmail good enough? :bored:

You don't need to. Use the one your router uses to connect. Every ISP assigns you one automatically when you join them .

Because 1. they allow people to post anonymously without being accountable for their posts and account 2. they allow banned members to just sign up again. 3. spammers use them.

Yes, your ISP, internet service provider.

(Why couldn't the internet have stayed the preserve of the remotely tech savvy?)

Ok I don't actually have an ISP e-mail address. My Dad does because he's the bill payer but I don't. Besides I didn't even use a mainstream account when I signed up before. I just think its silly to have rules like that. The mods used to and still manage on here when spam bot or a multiple account appears. :/

It's the most basic of knowledge though and a completely invalid complaint about the site.

Get him to create you one, all he's got to do is login to your ISP's website with his to do so.

And again, this is a relatively small forum, DS is the world's fourth largest, completely different kettle of fish moderation wise.
