6. "Rumours", Fleetwood Mac
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Zyve-ItlOO...MacRumours.jpg Hi we're a band who've hopped beds more often than Goldilocks and as such are falling apart. BRB THOUGH MAKING A FANTASTIC ALBUM. |
5. "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars", David Bowie
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_tRg73iZIqu...owie+ziggy.jpg I'm not putting this top because it takes bloody forever to type out the title. ****ing ginger ****. |
Good to see some Oasis in there, 'The Masterplan' and 'Be Here Now' also have some crackin' tunes on them as well.
|
4. "The Joshua Tree", U2
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg Christ they have gone downhill :( |
3. "The Kick Inside", Kate Bush
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg Oh Kate. You sexy bitch. She wrote most of this when she was fourteen. 14. The same age that most of us now discover WKD :( |
Oh halo lazy descriptions.

2. "Rubber Soul", The Beatles
http://images.wikia.com/beatles/imag...Rubbersoul.jpg There are places I remember... |
1. "Hunky Dory", David Bowie
http://images.wax.fm/david_bowie_hun...287300036.jpeg Okay. Having 'Life On Mars?' is really enough to cement it in the top 10. But I've picked this top, and have said it's my favourite album for a fairly long time now, because of how cross-generational the songwriting is. There's childish honky-tonk happy-go-lucky piano tunes like 'Changes' and 'Queen Bitch', there's overblown and slightly nonsense extravagance in 'Life On Mars?' and 'Eight Line Poem'... but two of my favourite tracks from it are the precautionary ones, 'Oh! You Pretty Things' and the tribute to his first son, 'Kooks', which is just deliriously happy with pride, humour and father-to-son messages. It's by no means his most important or defining record but it's just packed with infectious, bouncy, chirpy tunes. And that is the end of my list. |
