Where in Germany Niall? I'm going to a place called Duisburg in August - but only cos my pal lives there and I've never been. She was the bridesmaid at the wedding I went to last year so I picked her up from that I guess. I only know the Westerrn most parts of Germany - Aachen, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden.

It's the places where Scottish Claymores teams would play american football or their supporters came from (the opposing teams Rhein Fire or Galaxy Frankfurt). I've done it many years hence the invite to a wedding in a small town close to the Dutch border called Krefeld

Buy a tent from Argos (they have had amazing discounts) and yez take the kids up North!!!!!

I know that doesn't sound as enticing as Italy but cheap pal - smile!

Lee - do you subscribe to KGB???? In the past weeks they had offers £99 for two days at Kenmore hotel or a hotel by Loch Ness. By the time I saw the Kenmore one it was sold-out/expired on a 65% discount price.

We're not totally sure yet, only discussing atm. I really want to go to Berlin and see the Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag and all that - there's so much history there, its fascinating. We might visit the Dachau Concentration Camp too, I've always wanted to visit one just to see it for real. I know it'll be horribly sad but its one of the those things I've always wanted to do.

And thats cool.

That's totally cool Niall. I've always wanted to walk thru the Brandenburg gate and have a wee look at the new Reichstag. For some reason I've never visited Berlin although Scottish Claymores played a team called Thunder there - och I know the reason - flights from Scotland were unreasonably expensive to there at the time!

I have a backpack with the Claymores logo on it that has been more places than me..............I'd left it in a bar in Duesseldorf, so a German pal collected it, took it to Berlin because he was going to see my team play Thunder. He used my digital camera to take pictures of the gate, the Reichstag, the stadium, the game, etc whilst wearing the top that was in the bag!!!! Then handed the bag over to a joint Scottish friend who flew it back to Edinburgh. Then I got it back (pictures n all) in Glasgow at another game. Silly.

It was a quote from an unnamed permabanned ex-member requesting to be permabanned for the 2nd time - but we're not supposed to talk of them as though they never existed

Eh? Several other permabanned members are often mentioned by their names on Tibbs. :conf: Why would a quote be treated any different?

They arent meant to be, and if we see discussions about permabanned members they get deleted

I knew that Vickster and probably Locke did too - I didn't take the bait out of respect so replied in a coded way.

Locke. 02-07-2011 05:46 PM

How the bloody hell would I know it was a quote from someone who'd been banned

Ah right. I can understand if the comments are of a nasty variety and being mean to the person - but if it's just general 'so and so says hi' or something, I'd thought that was okay.

Didn't realise it was a 'blanket' thing though, so glad it cropped up on here. :)

That we do tend to let go as long as its not constant...as its not exactly talking about banned members

The problem has been...with a couple of permabanned members, as soon as someone mentions their name(good or bad), they use it as an excuse to make a multiple account to address it. Which is the main reason why all talk about them is deleted :p

Ah sorry - I thought you knew that my ID carried a quote from he who has no name and were just winding me to say something unwise and infractionable mate.

My sig also has a dot in it which was a joke on here for a while.

Ah right, got you, see exactly what you mean. Just creates more work all round I guess for no good reason. :)
