The show has to keep developing or it will become stale and lifeless as a format and people will turn off. Quote:
If 86,000 people turn off so what, that still leaves them 2.3 million or so viewers. They will have done enough market research to know the changes won't have a massive effect on the audience numbers and the production company won't let them do to much that affects the ratings and possibility of having their contract renewed in two years time. I keep thinking they are moving the show towards the "get me out of here" style of programming with the house mates commenting on the tasks etc with Big Brother as the interviewer, not sure if I like it yet, but I willing to live with it and have Big Brother on the TV again. |
Moon 86,000 viewers were the subscriber numbers that the live feed attracted and were clearly stated to show that your claim of lack of live feed was financially motivated wasnt right im not looking to disagree with you just stating a fact.
So what if 86k turn off they will still have 2.3million is just a daft thing to say i get the overly defensive thing i really do but ??????????? Im not one to pick posts apart sentence by sentence and ignore the context but you also conveniently ignored the origin of the wedding dress. edit 43 |

My thinking goes along lines that maybe they don''t think they will get similar numbers, and they will historical trend data on the live feed take up. If general audience numbers has fallen over the years it would be safe to conclude that is likely that so as the number of subscribers to the live feed. We don't know what the profit level is like and we don't know what the break even point is, in terms of subscriber numbers. We are all guessing in the dark, however I concede their might be a profit to be made, but as you said channel 5 wants to make the show there own and that doesn't include a live feed from what you have been told so it is academic. They are clearly happy with the format they have decided to adopt and we can't do much about it. I think it is foolish that a minority of people think they have power over television companies and that voting with their feet, as people have said they will do on here and other forums, will really affect what the mainstream viewers watch. Yes, they are right to put their view and in this case they have a good point, but at the end of the day they are the ones broadcasting and running the show. If they say no that is that. Yes we can be disappointed in the direction the company is going with the show but that is up to them. They are the ones that commissioned the series. I would like to see a live feed but if that is not going to happen we can either moan about it or just get on with enjoying what we have. I hope the channel changes its mind. I think if there is a profit to be made they should go for it. |
****e, utter ****e.
I'll watch on as BB quickly vanishes into extinction, hope Channel 5 learn their lesson, FFS all they show during the night on 5* is teleshopping, surely BB Live is better than that? |
