He's an utter thug, it was obvious the moment he went into the house, and for him to come anywhere close to winning is showing that bullies and mindless thugs can do well in life.

Aaron is a clever guy, he knows Jay could switch at any minute which is why he's tried to keep him onside recently, but the present debacle seemed to be the final straw.
