That's not at all a dig at him, it's just a testament to how interesting and complex Makosi was.

This.

You can't say unless you've seen BB6. There has never been any other housemate like Makosi. She has more layers than an onion. She is a legitimate pathological liar, claimed she was pregnant after being fingered in the pool, she would nominate her friends for eviction, and everyone thought she was a mole and she would feed into it and not deny it.

It's quite insulting and takes a lot of the surprise out of the show. The UK version is more sneaky with it's twists and turns and makes for a more entertaining show, but I must say this years UK series has adapted elements from the US which I find bothersome. Like the Highly recapped Saturday shows. I've watched all week, I know what happened, it's annoying to see it all again. The Recap on Friday live shows is boring as well.

They have adopted elements from the US (or the old Australian one?) and not in a good way. I totally agree about Julie Chen having to explain everything to the audience, eg before each HG votes on eviction. It's treating all the audience like they are just casual viewers. Also the narrating from the DR (something brought into the British version) just tends to repeat stuff we already know, rather than being something more personal and revealing.

That's because the houseguests know that ultimately they will decide who wins. BBUK ultimately is a popularity contest so the houseguests know they have to cater to the outside world as much as to each other.

That said, even though the format is superior I think the editing is bad. Hardly a minute can go by in the regular show without them using some type of dramatic music. And I hate it that the houseguests are not presented as 3 dimensional people. Instead, the people who do the editing practically decide how you feel about certain people. The "heroes" and the "villains" when in reality everyone is a mixture of both.

I don't like the use of music. But I have to say they are doing it even worse now in the British series this year. They are putting music to the most boring and badly edited montages, and are using bad music as well. The Americans actually do that part better, as well as being a bit less preoccupied with 'romances' imo.

Agreed. As much as I couldn't stand Makosi she was a brilliant housemate. I found Dr. Will and his henchman to be boring to be honest. For her to look into the camera and say she may be pregnant is epic unto itself, knowing full well she had only been fingerbanged.

Furthermore, for those trying to compare US episodes as being utterly dramatic and far superior to the UK version, I'd suggest watching one of the two Fight Night's from the UK. Lying and backstabbing is one thing, throwing platters at peoples faces, flipping over fully laden tables and having security intervene is quite another.

Then there's the issue of the presenter. Davina could drown out Julie Chenbot's personality in a single smirk. Julie literally reads the teleprompter like a newscaster whereas Davina pumped up her lines with life and vigor and best of all, humor. Julie is stone cold when the HM's are evicted whereas you could tell Davina was just itching to dig her claws in and get the story from their time in the house.

Only two fight nights? Season 6 of BBUSA was practically a fight season if you can call it that where two sides of the house were battling and hating each other and on one occation they had to separate the houseguests into different rooms.

Has BBUK ever had a moment as dramatic and shocking and tragic as when Marcellus refused to use the veto on himself because he thought they had the votes to stay safe? Then minutes later he is evicted.
