Yeeah.. I've not watched it. Might pull myself out of this club cos I won't ever get around to watching the films :joker:

MTVN 11-02-2012 11:13 PM

Just watched it

Spoiler:

It was really good actually, especially the opening scene and the second half. It was a bit slow during the first half at times though, I know it's meant to be all part of his character and the film and everything but it was a painful watching the conversations with the girl (can't remember her name) where they'd exchange a couple of words in a minute. I did like the main character though, and the way they did it where they kept him a mystery, you could say it'd be nice to know a bit more about him but that would kind of defeat the point, although it does make the love story a bit weird, I don't see any real reason why she would be attracted to him tbh lol

The sudden really violent scenes were a bit surprising considering the first half of the film, maybe it was a bit unnecessary but I liked how ruthless it all was, and yeah like others have said the soundtrack was really good, and that's not something I normally care that much about in a film, I'd give it 8/10 overall

Novo 13-02-2012 04:37 AM

Calm down Droog

I am going to watch Drive now and then give my film for this week.. also would be good if everyone gave each film a rating like imdb and then average the total ratings and put it on the first page

Yeah good idea, everyone that watched Drive rate it out of 10.

9.5/10 for me. Would have been a 10 but a couple of the scenes early in the movie dragged on a couple of minutes too long, other than that it is a perfect film.

Shaun 13-02-2012 04:50 AM

already rated

Locke. 13-02-2012 04:57 AM

Ratings so far:

Shaun - 9/10
DTM - 8/10 (rounded up from 4/5)
SharkAttack - 9/10
Josy - 6/10 (rounded up from 3/5)
BlackDagger - 8/10 (rounded up from 4/5)
RoyMars - 9/10 (rounded up from 4.5/5)
Glenn - 10/10 (rounded up from 5/5)
MTVN - 8/10
Locke - 9.5/10

Any of the rounded up ones can change theirs if they like..

Novo 13-02-2012 07:03 AM

Drive 9/10

such an intense movie it's amazing how the main guy hardly ever speaks ( reminded me of Ryan from the OC ) he suited that role really well though.. the relationship between him and Irene was really well done and they didn't turn it into anything to corny or had over the top sex scenes every 20 minutes they focused on the main story more then that which i liked, love the way it ended as well thought he was dead until he blinked after about a minute, the soundtrack was incredible and did the title and credit font remind anyone of Vice City? first thing i thought when i saw it

Second Film: Hachi: A Dog's Tale

From Academy Award-nominated director Lasse Hallström (2000, The Cider House Rules) comes Hachi: a Dog's Tale, a film based on one of the most treasured and heartwarming true stories ever told. Golden Globe winner Richard Gere (2002, Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, Chicago) stars as Professor Parker Wilson, a distinguished scholar who discovers a lost Akita puppy on his way home from work. Despite initial objections from Wilson’s wife, Cate (Academy Award nominee Joan Allen – 2000, Best Actress, The Contender), Hachi endears himself into the Wilson family and grows to be Parker's loyal companion. As their bond grows deeper, a beautiful relationship unfolds embodying the true spirit of family and loyalty, while inspiring the hearts of an entire town.

IMDb Rating: 8.1

Drive 5/10

It wasn't really my type of film but it had a good soundtrack.

Black Dagger 13-02-2012 10:29 AM

Oooh, never been a massive lover of Dog's films.

Will watch this tomorrow.

Samuel. 13-02-2012 10:52 AM

I already rated it, but out of 10 I'd rate Drive 3/10.

Glenn. 13-02-2012 11:29 AM

Oh no, it's a sad film?

I don't want to be crying at it every 20 minutes.

Glenn. 13-02-2012 11:48 AM

If your a dog lover it's sad.

Roy Mars III 13-02-2012 11:50 AM

Jesus, just from the trailer I can it's going to be super sad

Samuel. 13-02-2012 11:55 AM

This sounds scarily similar to the Futurama episode Jurassic Bark.

Josy 13-02-2012 12:08 PM

I hate sad films
