Ha Ha I had a marmite opinion of that song.. LOL in some cases and pure awful the next!

Ironic that the UK is slagging off Ireland for choosing to send Jedward again when they managed 8th and beat our representitives Blue last year, especially when you consider the failures we have had last couple of years. Block voting etc gets in the way, but overall it is just light entertainment although some treat it seriously!

MTVN 26-02-2012 11:33 PM

It doesn't annoy me that much that they beat Blue, even though I liked our entry, it just seems a bit lazy and it's a bit boring to just enter the same act twice in a row

Other countries have done it before, don't see the problem.

Jedward became popular in countries such as Germany, Sweden etc last year so they and they must be hoping to capitalise on that success for their country.

MTVN 26-02-2012 11:38 PM

Yeah I didn't like it when Germany did it last year either, countries should actually come up with a new entrant each year imo

King Gizzard 26-02-2012 11:39 PM

Just being unoriginal and taking the easy way out

bbfan1991 26-02-2012 11:55 PM

There is a rule which states that a certain act can represent their country only 2 times from what I have read online and no longer after that, so for sure this is definitely Jedward's last involvement with Eurovision;).

Benjamin 27-02-2012 12:39 AM

I have to agree, I'm not a fan when a country uses the same act again twice in a row.

King Gizzard 27-02-2012 01:19 AM

We would have got the legend that is Andy Abraham back if we had any decency

MTVN 27-02-2012 01:53 AM

Would be another last place for him, him coming bottom was the reason Wogan quit :(

Benjamin 27-02-2012 01:56 AM

No X Factor **** to represent us. :nono:

It's not lazy, there were other candidates but Jedward won the song for Ireland voting. Tbh I think it's our best chance of finishing anywhere decent, which is near impossible these days with all the block voting that goes on.

MTVN 27-02-2012 11:27 AM

Well I still think it's a bit boring to do it :hmph: if Ireland were to bring back any act then it should have been Dustin the Turkey

King Gizzard 27-02-2012 11:29 AM

gimmicks

Dustin is amazing, just a poor song let him down :idc:

King Gizzard 27-02-2012 11:45 AM

Don't know why you don't go for a really really really irish theme with all the dancing and everything

The UK act is going to be confirmed tonight at 10:30, apparently. Rumours of Atomic Kitten have been rubbished by the ex-members of the band on Twitter.

Maia 01-03-2012 06:02 PM

I thought I'd be excited about it until I found out who's being rumoured.

King Gizzard 01-03-2012 06:05 PM

heard a rumour

Elisa Roche ‏ @Elisa_Roche

Eurovision fans - Keep an eye on the @bbceurovision account at around 10pm tonight to find out who this year's UK entry is. It is AMAZING

King Gizzard 01-03-2012 06:07 PM

Anita Singh ‏ @anitathetweeter

oh my goodness, I know who is representing the UK at Eurovision this year and it is beyond brilliant. Official announcement at 10.30pm

Maia 01-03-2012 06:07 PM

The main person being tipped is far from amazing

King Gizzard 01-03-2012 06:08 PM

Anita Singh ‏ @anitathetweeter

But I''ve got to be honest - if you're of tender years you'll hear the name and say "Who??!" Now I must stop with the clues #eurovision

Anita Singh ‏ @anitathetweeter

So the BBC says this act is an "international music legend" #eurovision

King Gizzard 01-03-2012 06:09 PM

Oh my god.. someones just told me who it is for real :|
