Its not about points, its about admitting you made an error and aknowledging your comments contributed to a serious incident.

The tragic accident wouldn't have happened if the Tories hadn't brought politics into an industrial dispute in order to distract attention from all the other gaffes they've made recently .....

We don't know it wouldn't have happened,i don't know about the government, but the press are the ones in my view who fuel things up by their sensationalised headlines,as for blaming 'the goverment' yet again all I saw Mr Cameron do was give advice NOT orders and people calling for one of them to resign because someone was stupid enough to fill cans in her KITCHEN near a naked flame, well the mind boggles, speaking of politics,Milliband could probably stop this strike now ,wonder why he HASN'T at least tried?!

Yes in her Kitchen
Gas Cooker on
Pouring Petrol Raw

She is Lucky to be Alive.

It is true to say she was worried about her daughter
so took some Petrol from her Can
and Poured it Raw next to a Gas Cooker.

Tragic.

But if this Strike goes ahead later
her burns will help the Women in this Land
that have No Freaking Idea how to Handle Petrol,
as this Tragic Accident has gone Global.

I am Blunt but Honest.

I think it's safe to say most people would not be filling cans in their kitchen near a gas cooker that was lit ,she was to blame,no one else.

At the momemt, there is NO STRIKE for anybody to stop - the "looming" strike threat was whipped up by Cameron and his cronies for political ends .....

So what is the truth about the strike?

Quote:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17512729

Fuel tanker drivers have voted in favour of taking strike action in a row over terms and conditions and safety, the Unite union has said.

About 2,000 drivers at seven distribution depots took part in the ballot in what was the first national industrial action campaign for more than 10 years.

Unite said five of the seven depots backed strike action, while two did not. Of those five, the vote in favour was 69%. Turnouts across the five averaged 77.7%.

"Drivers have voted for a strike, but each employer and Unite should now get back around the table to discuss the issues raised. Going ahead with strike action would have a real impact on people across the country," said John Cridland, CBI director general.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17558294

When could a strike be called?

Not before, or even over, Easter - a strike then has been ruled out by Unite. It is to join conciliation talks and says there may still be a strike after Easter if those fail.

What prompted her to take that action ?

Was it the weather forecast, the football results, the price of bread?

Ammi 31-03-2012 06:56 PM

..this is all hypothitical..we don't know whether she would have bought the petrol can regardless of whether she was advised to or not...I'm sure many people bought them..but they were not badly burned...buying the can didn't cause the incident...disregard of basic safety precautions did

Kizzy 01-04-2012 12:04 AM

Don't be naive ammi, it was the government advising her to do this.
A good day to bury bad news...as some would say.....
It smacks of.

Benjamin 01-04-2012 12:14 AM

I'm with Ammi. People do stupid things everyday and nobody else is held accountable. This woman has her own stupidity to blame for what happened to her, nobody else.

..Naive?.....there are some would have your viewpoint..and some who would have mine...overall I mean...not on Tibbs...and it is only a view..because we don't know if she would have panic bought anyway..like so many others do..regardless of what ministers say or don't say ..whenever any possible shortage is mentioned..that's what some people do...make it worse..well..sometimes cause it...so please don't call me naive
.....but really..that's not the point...it isn't buying the petrol that caused this..I imagine lots of people did that...but only one woman was burnt...and strangely enough..that woman disregarded every safety precaution she could...now..I don't think it's naive...to find a little link between 'the correct handling of petrol'....and.....'lady getting badly burnt'

Kizzy 01-04-2012 10:05 AM

Ammi maybe naive was the wrong word, and yes I see that it is a popular view that it is entirely her own fault.
However, is it only omar and myself that see that this whole business with the tanker drivers was used very cleverly as spin to detract from recent bad press?....
It's a miracle only one woman was burnt, the comments of all three could have caused many more incidents.

Ammi 01-04-2012 10:13 AM

..I don't believe in miracles..but fortunately there are not many people who would handle petrol in the way this lady did or indeed there could be more unfortunate incidents
..I don't believe we will ever agree on this Kizzy..and as it is one of those 'no proof' things...and I'm only repeating myself in each post...I think I will retire from the thread..because I have nothing new to add

Cant stand Cameron most of the time, but to blame him for this is just as idiotic as this womans actions were tbh.

How absolutely bloody ridiculous. It's the same as a doctor telling you that fruit is good for you then choking on a piece of fruit because you forgot to chew it before swallowing, and then blaming the doctor for making a comment that contributed to the incident.
