I understand what you're saying Shaun..and it's not an attractive quality to have..but it doesn't hurt anyone..except herself really

I'm not sure where your comment ''so enthusiastic about hating'' arises from. Who is hating the woman? They are passing comment on a woman with a rather astonishing overly egostistical attitude who chose to put herself in the spotlight by writting an article on herself.

I'm sure there are times when you've taken a thorough dislike to someone and they have just got under your skin and 'got to you'. It's what separates us from the animals, having such emotions - and anyone who says they like everyone isn't being honest.

What is clear to see from comments made from people, is that it is her breathtaking arrogance that is rankling people - no one likes such arrogance, moreso when it clearly comes from her own deluded self belief that she is something she is very clearly not.

You ask who she is harming. Well if any of her tales are true: she's certainly very publically made it clear what she thinks of the company that she and her husband keep - and I for one wouldn't appreciate someone that I kept company with, who I socialised with, doing that in a nationwide newspaper.

Personally I still not sure it wasn't all done very much tongue in cheek - for the reaction (and it definately got one LOL ) - but there also an equally good chance that it is true.

..I should have put the hating bit in these ' '..I didn't mean it literally..more the 'haters will hate' kind of thing...not a phrase I really like..and I was talking about the public on general..not anyone on here..I mean nothing really bad has been said here..and the subject has been brought up for opinions..so that's fine


Of course you are absolutely right..people don't always take to people for some reason and in this case the reason is obvious..what she's saying isn't going to endear most to her...myself included...what I meant was..like on This Morning..people phoning in or emailing just to make her aware of their disapproval..taking time from their day..making an effort..for someone they obviously have no time for..what's the point..why not just..do nothing..dismiss her from their thoughts..her arrogance or vanity has no effect on their lives..that's what I meant by 'doing no harm'...if I think someones an idiot..I would hardly give them a second thought..let alone take time out to..twitter..email..phone...whatever they choose to do..that's the part I think is a bit silly...I mean it's different on here..that's what a forum is for..discussions..

As you said Ammi - it is a discussion forum, so it's no real surprise it's been discussed 'on here' which you're doing yourself.

How do you know her arrogance and her comments about how she is treated (allegedly) by other women that she mixes with, at work/play/ social situation - do not affect them. :conf: I'd say it was a natural thing to be affected in some way if someone you socialised with suddenly began slagging you off in a newspaper.

I still think it's been a superb ploy all the same - and it's certainly generated a lot of interest by a lot of people. Well done the DM - it upped it's readership for sure given the interest, even by those who don't really care about it.

If she had published the article in an American newspaper, I don't imagine anybody would have bat an eye lid at the story. Really is a case of the Brits expecting everybody to act all modest and humble about everything.

Tbh good for her if she can delude herself into this beautiful perfect woman. As Ammi said, she's doing no one any harm.

There is much diginity in being humble and having at least a modicum of modesty - of which she possess neither. It doesn't make her a bad person, but it certainly doesn't make a nice person in my eyes either.

One thing is for sure: if she wasn't vying for attention before - she sure is now! Silly woman.

She's decent looking and not much more. If men are buying her things then they must be mugs. I actually find her claims difficult to accept. Men could be buying things cuz they think she's a ho. Woman may hate her for the same reason. Her claims are completely delusion and based on her high opinion of herself. Personally I dont think she should be taken seriouly enough to be a hate figure.
