Ryan57 21-05-2013 06:05 PM

Brilliant. Will definitely be watching this again on demand.

Blew Sony out the water with all the non-game stuff.

Ryan57 21-05-2013 06:07 PM

MS stock prices have gone down. Sony's up. Rofl. Nice one MS.

Ramsay 21-05-2013 06:12 PM

Funny that PS4 didnt even show the console but they had a waaaay better conference than that..i know E3 is just around the corner and they are just saving it for that but still..they focused way too much on ''THIS IS THE ALL IN ONE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM TV INTERNET SKYPE BLAH BLAH'' than the games

Ramsay 21-05-2013 06:15 PM

And its obvious that that dog is only in the new call of duty to give the player an emotional response when he dies..blah

We hope they'll show tons of games at E3 but, you just never know with MS nowadays.

Seems the ram is GGDR3. Advantage to Sony there.

Ryan57 21-05-2013 06:24 PM

Always on not mandatory, thank goodness.

MS spouting TV crap. Barely anything about games.

Not always on.
Used games require a fee after first use.

Xbox One Is Not Always Online, But Seems To Restrict Used Games

The next Xbox won't require an Internet connection to function, but could very well block used games, unless you feel like paying Microsoft some extra cash.

Wired got a look at Xbox One before today's big reveal, and they say that games will require installation to use. “On the new Xbox, all game discs are installed to the HDD to play,” Microsoft told them.

But games will be tied to an Xbox Live account, Wired reveals—or else you'd just be able to pass games around to everyone you know. And if you want to link a game to a second account, you'll have to pay a fee:

What follows naturally from this is that each disc would have to be tied to a unique Xbox Live account, else you could take a single disc and pass it between everyone you know and copy the game over and over. Since this is clearly not going to happen, each disc must then only install for a single owner.

Microsoft did say that if a disc was used with a second account, that owner would be given the option to pay a fee and install the game from the disc, which would then mean that the new account would also own the game and could play it without the disc.

But what if a second person simply wanted to put the disc in and play the game without installing – and without paying extra? In other words, what happens to our traditional concept of a “used game”? This is a question for which Microsoft did not yet have an answer, and is surely something that game buyers (as well as renters and lenders) will want to know.
Wired also asked what we've all been wondering: will the console be online-only? The answer: it depends.

And what of the persistent rumors that Xbox One games will be “always online” – that is, that single-player games would require a constant online connection to function? As it turns out, those rumors were not unfounded, but the reality is not so draconian. Xbox One will give game developers the ability to create games that use Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing service, which means that they might be able to offload certain computing tasks to the cloud rather than process them on the Xbox One hardware itself. This would necessitate the game requiring a connection.

Are developers forced to create games that have these online features, and are thus not playable offline? They are not, Xbox exec Whitten said to Wired — but “I hope they do.” So the always-online future may come in incremental steps.
So it's up to the developer. Some games may require an Internet connection; some may not. The future of always-online remains hazy.
All but out myself. Or use it only for exclusives.

so going over to your friends house and bringing a game to play is all but over

Must be. Unless there's some way you can sign into your account but then, Kinect signs you in via face recognition so I'm not sure.

Another issue is, there's no stern confirmation that Sony won't be doing the same thing.

Brother Leon 21-05-2013 06:39 PM

Exclusive Fifa content apparently? And UFC looked sick apparently?

NBA looked ****e I heard though.

Ultimate Team crap. Not revealed what it was though. UFC was part of the EA montage. No firm gameplay of anything.

Yeah that's true actually..just will have to hope for the best :(

Ryan57 21-05-2013 07:01 PM

So here's more bull****. It's sounding like more than one person can't play a game on the same console without the people after the first activator paying.

OMFG!

Brother Leon 21-05-2013 07:13 PM

UFC and Madden Looks hot. Just going off Screenshots though.

billy123 21-05-2013 07:57 PM

You also have to buy the Kinect to be able to operate the console and theres no backwards compatibility with 360 games.
Those things along with destroying the pre-owned market is enough to put me off.

Also running three different operating systems at the same time sounds like asking for trouble they are trying to target too many markets at once it will be jack of all trades master of none.

How much money are they wanting for this thing?

Scarlett. 21-05-2013 08:19 PM

Standard Xbox crap, I mean from what I heard of the presentation, it was basically the crap they've been pushing at the past few E3's, Kinect, Bing, Windows blah blah blah

PS4 did their presentation way better, focusing on stuff that gamers actually care about (e.g. being able to play games as they download).

No doubt Xbox One will have the same Xbox Live system.

Ramsay 21-05-2013 09:49 PM

Seems the whole having to pay a fee after installing a game is false
