I didn't say 'the opposite of straight ', I said, 'as opposed to the negative fault'.

But, really, it was just a flippant comment pointing out that the phrasing used suggested a particular thing, and most likely not the thing the post intended to suggest. It was a point about semantics. It's quite simple: if you use the phrase 'for all their faults they're the straightest people there' that phrasing suggests that being straight is a positive attribute, because it has been posited as a 'saving grace' if you will next to their 'faults'.

For example: For all his faults, Dexter can be really witty at times. For all his faults, Dan was a level headed presence in the house.

For all your faults, you do write some decent forum posts.

You can be asexual and still find people attractrive. The people you find attractrive will depend on whether you are straight, gay or bi etc.

Personally, I am asexual straight as well. Though it took until my late 30s to figure that out. Prior to that I thought there must be something wrong with me.

No, I find women attractive. I do not find men attractive. For example, if you approached a regular every day person in a club and said to them you cannot have sex for the next 7 months. They would probably go and hang themselves. I havent had sex for about 7 years and have no desire to seek it out.

There are lots of people in relationships who have sex with their partners because that's what you're supposed to do, and because not doing so would make their partner feel like they were being rejected or were unattractive They may love their partner very much. They may find them very attractive. They may enjoy the romance, or cuddling up on the sofa. But full on sexual activity may feel totally wrong to them.

Nope. Althought some asexuals do. Its a very wide spectrum. I am not a prude either before someone directs that at me. I find sexual things such as porn quite funny to be honest. My first incline that I maybe asexual was when everyone around me was obsessed with sex as a youngster, and I thought ok erm what am I missing? Then after making a conscious effort to 'pull' being bored senseless with 'it'.

And before some smartass says 'you just cant get laid' if I wanted it and I couldnt get it through conventional means, I would pay for it. I just don't care about it.

They may be able to think themselves into a frame of mind where it's ok. Or they may even quite enjoy it, but not actually have a desire for it.

When people find out I have been single for nearly 10 years, they find it strange that i don't miss the sex. When in fact that's the part of a relationship that I absolutely do not miss. I just don't have that desire.

Like CynicalHermit, my first inkling was when i was younger and all my mates talked about sex. It just did nothing for me. It's like that part of my brain never activated or something. Really, it's only the last few years that I have recognised it for what it is. before that I spent a long time thinking I was somehow broken. When actually, I'm just wired a little differently to most people.

There has been zero indication of this and whether he is or not, this thread is just wishful thinking on the part of the OP. Speculation and gossip based on absolutley nothing.
