I honestly think if someone went below 50k they would have got the money and left. And I think BB were probably expecting them to go that low too. There is no way they would give away 80% of the prize fund before the final just for a twist.

I think you are on to something here, the delays and the cloak of mystery suggest that this could be true.

I also think it's very difficult to attribute meaning to the actions of any of them (i.e. one is clever, another greedy), but in the luck of the draw Dexter was very fortunate. Sam's reaction and anger at Dexter was a real surprise and won't do his image any favours.

Possibly. Which is why I think Dex went low but still high ;)

He thought it was a twist (which was right) but hedged his bets incase it wasnt.

I thought this thread was about Sam's perceived "greed"?:conf: But if they all had done the same thing,Sam should have gone!?!?! That would suggest the aim of this thread is to discredit Sam,the favourite,in order to help Dexter, the second favourite?!?:nono:
btw,as long as Gina doesn't win,"frankly my dear I don't give a damn":xyxwave:!!

Maybe. I honestly believe Sam chose the 100k for the reason he stated - he wanted to stay. As there is no way BB would give away all the prize money, he would have gone much lower if he wanted to walk.
Another reason I think he was legit is that I think he knows he's in with a good shot of winning anyway. And like all of them, no matter what they say, he badly wants to actually WIN.

Is there an actual link to the Deal Or No Deal ep?

Sams not bothered about Dexter OK they dont like each other but Dexter is the one that wants to win the most out of all of them.

They all want to win. Nothing wrong with that at all.

I don't think Dexter wants to win anymore than anyone in that house wants to win, if you go on a gameshow the aim is to win, whether they admit it or not is a different story. No one likes to lose

Why go through the torture of watching Sam pick boxes....

fingers 15-08-2013 03:10 PM

Funny how he said on his VT for BB that he has LOST 70/80 percent of hearing but on Deal or no Deal he said he HAD 70% of his hearing, It has to be one or t'other.

because it will give us an insight into the 'real' Sam. Olly Murs came across very different on Deal.

Apparently his appearance was on 1 November 2012, if you can find it!

I dunno..I prefer to think that than the other options.

Did he definitely say he had 70% of his hearing on DOND?

Going by the way he talks, I would think he has lost 70%-80%.

Couldn't be a progressive thing, could it? I mean, that never happens with medical conditions does it fingers, you know... degeneration. Or maybe it fluctuates between 70-80%. My mother has problems with her eyesight and some days it's better than others.

I don't get the Sam hate. There seems to be so little to dislike.

Oh come on.

You can't seriously be suspicious of Sam and whether they said 70% hearing on some other game show and 70% loss of hearing on this game show. HE didn't say it!

They guy has a hearing disability. You can hear he has a hearing disability. Deal with it ffs.

Dexter used the "I have no friends" excuse and you're going to pull Sam up and question him something that's medically provable!!

Jesus... I give up!

Yes - that's why I said I thought he was profoundly deaf prior to reading what he said on DOND. It's a little bit odd if it has degenerated so much in a few months. I know things can degenerate but I don't know enough about his condition to know if it can degenerate by large percentages like that over a short period...

I find myself agreeing with you once again Marmalite. Sam was never my favourite but he seems so inoffensive, I just don't get it...

Fingers... you're a bad, bad man.

From the transcript:

"Samuel Evans from Llanelli in Wales

Sam talks about his hearing disability and how it wasn't discovered until he was 7. He says he was very fortunate to be able to recover to have 70% of his hearing. Noel talks about him being a bit of a 'Jack the Lad'."
