Dexter took the 88 number as a chinese luck and the luck favoured him and now he is safe from eviction. If others do not like it then tough.

There's a contestant on Project Runway this year who is deaf, uses hearing aids, but has a signer to make sure he understands the rules every week. If he doesn't understand something, he asks. HE is making a statement, by focusing on what he's there to do instead of making an issue of his deafness. Sam treats his deafness like a selling point. Wouldn't someone who is trying to "stand up" for something be more interested in showing how a deaf person is just as capable, rather than bringing it up as a sob story?

Wasn't it just...how Sam's speech wasn't playing to the gallery I don't know. :joker:

That was Sam really saying "im lovely I am, im all about the deaf children, I don't care about the money , just like when I was on Deal Or No Deal I was there only to raise awareness for deaf children and not the prize money"

This is exactly what he is doing showing that he iIS capable, he is also showing how common it is to patronise deaf people. Good on him:hugesmile:

Hardly 'owning'

However this is the thing I like about sam. He doesnt beat around the bush and does tend to say whats on his mind (which a lot of the time is nothing). He doesnt fanny about like the rest do. This was the main thing I liked about Gina too to begin with :)

Sam is the one who gave himself the mini-mission of raising awareness, not me. How is he raising awareness by struggling? Encouraging others to learn about deaf culture would have been better. What has anyone learned about deaf people after watching Sam? Does anyones awareness feel raised?

Going on rants about things he's only half-heard, and making extremely rude comments to women while acting like he doesn't know better is not showing he is capable. It's showing he expects to get away with doing whatever he likes, because he's deaf, and therefore, "special".

I think you've misunderstood my post. Sam is doing nothing to raise awareness. All he's doing is exploiting the viewer's emotions.

Yeah, apologies. I realised after I'd read it again, but other people questioned my post, so my reply to you can be to them!

I think we got there in the end.

He is just telling the deaf people they also can be rude and crude with their jokes on TV.Piss off SAM.I do not believe your mission for the deaf people and someone told you to say this to get votes.
