I don't know how anyone can argue really about Charlotte. She sits down with Emma to have a chat, and her first line is...

"I don't know how I won really, my behaviour is unacceptable."

daniel-lewis-1985 14-09-2013 01:20 PM

BB does not represent the whole of the UK society though does it lol especially when its struggled to even stay around the 2 million mark.

Its a tv show not your real life maybe people should realise this and separate real life from a reality tv show.

Oh dear how embarrassing if true, especially given her spiel about how women over a certain age should behave.:joker:

It was the same with Sam:hugesmile:

Even if this wasn't true, do you really think kids like Charlotte or her fans are the ones drinking MD20/20 in the street with 6 inch blades in their back pockets? Do you think they're the muggers, the violent criminals, or the tragic heroin addicts that litter every small town centre? Do you really think that THIS is "broken britain"?? If you do, I'm sorry but you really need to get off your couch and have a look around. Our society has deep, deep, festering problems but girls like Charlotte farting are not one of them . Kids like charlotte grow up and become normal people, with normal jobs, and normal families. But because her behaviour makes people uncomfortable, theyre inexplicably managing to twist it into something immoral or indicative of societal problems.

I'm 28 and I can literally look back 7/8 years to University and think of 4 girls I knew just like Charlotte (worse, in some cases) who are now: a doctor, a lawyer, a civil engineer, and a dentist. All on 50k+ salaries and "contributing to society" in ways that most people who would have branded them "products of broken Britain" never will. Not that job titles or salaries even matter. The point is, they are functional people having fun while theyre young. The fact that people want to brand this "immoral" is really, really sad.

I agree fully that there's an awful lot more problems in the world to keep us occupied, but at this point in time we're debating a TV show, and whether Charlotte is a product of society? Obviously it's not her job to set a good example,if she doesn't want to,but some people will follow her example, while others will be dismayed!
However,as regards the girls you knew in uni, there's a huge difference. They were studying in order to get qualifications to pursue their chosen careers, and obviously from time to time would let off steam!?! This is Charlotte's life, and with due respect,I can't imagine her heading to uni in the near future. She seems nice enough, when she's not performing, but when performing, she's cringe-worthy!!

still important to denounce her vile behaviour as a dreadful example to the millions of impressionable people who follow her as a role model

Not really since Sam didn't win on merit because he did nothing, the public have redeemed themselves now crowning Charlotte though.

Who in this year's CBB would you prefer as a role model for young people? And why? I can understand why some people can't get on board with Charlotte but, genuinely, every single other person in there was worse, with the possible exception of Dustin Diamond, who seemed fairly normal and level headed.

The place was full of ex junkies, alcoholics, narcissists and a big ol' racist.

I loved Charlotte even before she was on CBB and championed her all the way, it's just an added bonus it's annoyed some people, not the soul reason I am glad she won, neither is it now I better reason

I think it's sad that Charlotte won, in my opinion she's just been given the green light to carry on along a road that will no doubt end in self destruction. Shame.

I totally agree chuff, the 'she's young' argument is silly there is of course going to be some you don't support it doesn't mean you don't support any younger housemates. :conf:

You do have to pinch yourself though don't you, and think ' Is it me? am I just really intolerant'? and then you think ' No!' :joker:

Ahh, Courtney! A 19 year old so insecure, and so lacking any sense of self, that she has permanently damaged her young body and given herself guaranteed long-term health issues through excessive surgical enhancements... Oh, and who uses said enhanced body to gain attention by constantly wearing no clothes.

Role model?

She had a million times more decency in her left tit than Charlotte had in her whole body.. And she isn't as rough as ****. Simple as
