What a sad and dangerous concoction of youngsters we have these days. A mixture of lack of discipline, no enforceable authority from anywhere other than parents. 24 hour access to hard core Killing Video games, liberal dispensation of drugs anti-depressants/tranquilisers to children, questionable food additives, extreme pressure to do well and succeed at all costs, not enough jobs at the end of the college/training....etc etc

Is it any wonder a few go completely off the rails under these conditions.

Maybe as a society a bit of soul searching and reflectiveness may be a good thing as this poor lady should have had a more than reasonable expectation when she set out for work on Monday morning that she would return home on Monday evening.

Tragedy for all concerned.

..I think if you stab someone in the neck several times, then it's likely what the ending will be and to do that is a very disturbed mental state...and that isn't kind of a 'decade' thing it's an individual thing..I would say most teenagers play video games and they don't do what he did...and I really don't know if he was on medication or anything but he certainly seemed to be showing signs of his emotional state much before the incident...I think the fact that he and his brother didn't reply when an adult neighbour said hello to them is something that I would have found a bit worrying...

No justification for taking a knife into school and ending a life.....

What a strange thing to say... Leeds is the third largest city in England, you can't write the whole place of due to the actions of one psychotic teenager.

Ninastar 29-04-2014 10:53 PM

i can write it off due to the fact that it's rough as ****... i didnt want to work there for that reason.

It sounds a rather ignorant and narrow minded view sorry to say caitlin.

Ninastar 29-04-2014 11:14 PM

In year 5 a boy brought a knife to school and pulled it out on a girl and I was sitting right next to them. I didn't know what to do so I asked to go to the toilet :umm2:

In her last moments, Ann Maguire's thoughts
were only for her pupils.
The 61-year-old teacher begged
them to flee rather than witness
the horrific attack on her by
one of their fellow students.

One teenager said: 'Mrs Maguire was
screaming at the kids in the class telling
them to get out because she didn't
want them to see what was happening.'
Last night detectives were continuing
to question a 15-year-old boy over
the murder of the popular Spanish teacher,
who was in her last term before retiring
from full-time work at the school
#where she spent her entire 40-year

Just how long does it take to question this lad, the whole class are witnesses to what happened. Why is it taking 3 to 4 days to find out what happened in two minutes ?

I expect it is a complicated as (a) he is under age,
(b), they need to tread carefully so they get the correct verdict, and he doesn't walk free in a few years time if he is psychotic.

.

Every area has its plus and minus points, no matter where you live.

InOne 30-04-2014 10:58 AM

He probably needs the life tariff and then when they feel he's old enough maybe Broadmoor.

AnnieK 30-04-2014 11:05 AM

It said on one of the news reports that his mum was on holiday which caused some delay in beginning questioning him and he had be evaluated by psychologists to deem he was fit for interview.
