Honestly don't care, if they're entertaining so what?

The past 2/3 years have been houses full of agency members. I think the only one's last year were Callum, the twins and Sophie who probably didn't have an agent as the majority of others had been in various shows previously or were "known names" - ON THE CUSP OF FAME!

What's the difference in a wannabe unrepresented housemate and a wannabe housemate with an agent? Could go either way.

Josie Cunningham has reignited rumours that she’s set to join Big Brother 2014: Power Trip by announcing that she’s taking a break from Twitter – as the housemates went in to hiding.

The wannabe celebrity made headlines in April after telling The Mirror that she intended to have an abortion so she could “further her career” by joining the Channel 5 show.

Josie changed her mind a week later, claiming that she had decided not to take part after thousands of people signed petitions calling for her to be banned from television.

However, Big Brother fans are now speculating that the 23-year-old could be involved after all after she posted a suspicious message on Twitter earlier today.

At 1.11pm this afternoon, she wrote: “I’m coming off twitter for a few weeks – my management will keep you updated. People can be so nasty!”

The post came four hours after Rylan Clark – presenter of BB spin-off Bit On The Side – revealed that this year’s housemates had begun the traditional ‘hiding’ period today, which involves them being sequestered from all forms of media, including the internet.

Some observers have even linked Josie – who’s now over 23 weeks pregnant – to a Daily Star chat in which Rylan and main host Emma Willis said they’d like to see a birth in the house.

“See, I don’t think I should say this, but having a baby born in the house would be quite good,” commented Emma. “One Born Every Minute is my favourite programme, along with BB.”

“Apart from someone dying, we’ve shown everything in life in that house,” added Rylan. “We’ve seen the conception of how people are made, we might as well see the end result.”

Rylan has also stated in a separate interview that the new housemates have been “in the papers” or “on the cusp of fame”, saying: “You may have heard of some of them before.”

Josie first gained notoriety in early 2013 when she ‘demanded’ a boob job on the NHS.

They should rename it not quite a celebrity big brother

actually though i hate wannabes and try hards they do have less to lose than high profile celebs. so maybe its a good thing. the last season was so good i dont think it would of been if you'd of had some big names in it. as people would of acted differently

This is nothing new. It's been like this for a while.

Why do everyone hate lyddia again? I recognise the name but i forgot why she's comtroversial?

She was a good housemate.

Don't see the disgust in housemates having been known before. This has been happening since the late C4 BB days. C5 are just more honest about it. Most likely chance is that you've barely heard of them anyway (or not heard of them at all). Like last year you'd have to know the model industry well (or buy lads mags regularly) to know Hazel. Dexter and Gina you'd only know through one or two stories in the press (which comes under the 'real people' section anyway, or at least someone that's in the paper twice and you forget about within a day)... even a few of the others were only on gameshows for civilians. Not celebs by any stretch of the imagination.

It will be the same case this year.

That's why people are mad. I was hoping they would shift toward selecting more normal housemates, especially after hearing about all the other ****ty decisions they've made.

Some of the names on my early BB15 speculation thread may be going in then!

Why are people acting like this is new? On principle, casting fame seekers irritates me, but this is hardly groundbreaking, show changing news, is it? I don't love it, but it's something I've learned to deal with now.

My main problem is that, if they're going for a gameplay series, fame-hungry housemates aren't exactly the type I'd have gone for. I want people who are there simply for the money.

But tptb shouldn't be trying to contrive game players. Aaron BB12 was brilliant as he was subtle and even though he said in his audition he was going to be a game-player it was totally different to what the producers imagined and by the time they cottoned on to his popularity and tried to get him evicted and get us to love Jay as the winner it was too late! Adele BB3 came across as sweet as pie in her audition tape and even admitted she only showed her game playing side once in the house. Soo many auditionees promise to game play and be controversial only to be a damp squib (not a damp squid)

But, the main outrage in this thread has nothing to do with the gameplayers thing. It's the "cusp of fame" thing. On which, I agree it's annoying, but people are acting like it brand new for this series.

She was a goddess everyone loved her.

Spoon 28-05-2014 04:36 PM

I loved Dexter and Gina, but hate the sound of this article. I hope it's just cringey hype.

DanielM787 28-05-2014 10:25 PM

That josie is awful, what would bb be thinking shoving her in there, I reckon she will be first out

Black Dagger 29-05-2014 12:23 AM

Really not arsed in the slightest.

Benedict, Gina & Dexter all had articles in papers before the show and they were hardly known, that's what they'll be referring too.

As long as they're entertaining and give me nearly 3 months of entertainment, cool.

Raph 29-05-2014 12:25 AM

Ah I guess this may be the worst series ever then

Black Dagger 29-05-2014 12:28 AM

Nope, BB11 will remain unscathed xo

GypsyGoth 29-05-2014 01:27 AM

This has been the policy for the last few series, some of the previous hms even had agents before going in. So it's kinda refreshing that they're being honest about it.
