Is he a racist or young and ignorant.......or maybe all three but this comment bearing in mind who he is and his role model status, is a career killer.

The cars and the drugs he can be forgiven for, but to indulge in such a racist joke and allow himself to be filmed shows shocking naviete or perhaps he actually does hold to those views.

I'm not a fan of Justin Bieber but do not believe one joke makes you a racist.
People call people gay out of context all the time, does that make them all homophobes? I don't think so!

"Gay" is not a bad word, there is nothing even slightly offensive about it. Straight people don't want to be called gay because they are not gay, not because they have been called an offensive word. would it be offensive to call something straight? Your argument is invalid, Justin Bieber knew what he was doing, he just didn't expect the public to find out about it because he is an idiot.

This assumes being gay is bad, but people say it all the time with no true meaning.

It was a racist joke, but one action doesnt define you as a person.

I agree one racist joke does not make you a racist, but this young man really should know better than to indulge in this especially as he was being filmed at the time.

If he has learned anything from his experience of fame it is how hard it is to achieve and how quickly it can be lost.

To be filmed spouting a racist joke like this bearing in mind his age and his Multicultural fanbasel is just plain stupid.

I'm assuming he is not racist and this was him trying to be brave playing the big man in which case he should know better. If however he does actually hold these views then maybe it's a good thing people can see the real Justin.

Either way this type of publicity can do his career no good.

Eurgh, he knew what he was going to say was racist, he knew it was wrong to say it, his friends in the background told him 'don't even say it' and yet he did.

There's no denying what he said was racist. I have no idea if he is a racist because it was one thing he said and he was pretty young I would be inclined to think he was more stupid than anything else.

But theres really no need to blindly defend him when what he said is there in the vid for anyone to see and hear.

He's incredibly stupid. I don't know if the interview was fake or not but on a NZ chat show he didn't know what German meant or something when asked "Is it true Bieber means Basketball in German?"

yea he isnt all that bright at times. like when he was acting like a dick to Letterman and said The 16th Chapel or something like that when he meant The Sistine Chapel but of course he was young so i guess he gets a pass.:joker:

The Joke is unacceptable. I remember when some boy in primary said it and I ended up getting in trouble for fighting him. Highly doubt he's racist and it isn't career suicide, but it's incredibly stupid even if he was younger then.

I feel sort of bad for Biebz in this case... he was much younger and just being stupid. I don't think there was racist intent at all. If someone had recorded everything I was saying and doing at 16... ... err... I'm not convinced I'd even be a free man :joker:.

That said - some of the things that he HAS said and done within the last year are more than enough, surely, to see his career on a downhill slide? Spitting and pissing everywhere... dirty little boy!
